i am a fragile flower

terry lennox. (gareth), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 17:10 (eighteen years ago) link

I might go to the Alex Under / Triple R / Sud Electronic thing. Some of their other parties have been good.

So much on though through late march, and then middle of April...

Have you heard about the M-nus easter party?

rchinn (rchinn), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 17:35 (eighteen years ago) link

i move to london tomorrow from scunthorpe. you must understand, this is all very exciting for me. haha
im an american, who has lived in the country her whole life.

emma cleveland (emma cleveland), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 17:40 (eighteen years ago) link

im going to be poor very quickly...

emma cleveland (emma cleveland), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 17:44 (eighteen years ago) link

m-nus easter party??? pls tell me more!

ambrose (ambrose), Wednesday, 8 March 2006 23:50 (eighteen years ago) link

Stink was an eyeopener for me (I'd never been to a club in England before). I thought the music was a tad inconsistent (Neil Diamond?) but oh my god Mayer played the Chain so all was well with the world. And some of the newer Kompakt stuff sounds tasty.

Richard, you didn't realise I was Tami's boyfriend when you said hello!

Good Dog (Good Dog), Thursday, 9 March 2006 08:30 (eighteen years ago) link

I'm pulling out of all this weekend's festivities - Monday is a very important day and I know how I feel physically and emotionally after rolling London dancing and it's not a state I want to be in next week.

NEXT weekend, on the other hand, is a goer. Am I right in thinking there's a birthday coming up?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 9 March 2006 10:01 (eighteen years ago) link

For a golf raver, yes. Though not next weekend.

Everyone should go to Bangface, though it's possibly too late for anyone else to do so.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 9 March 2006 10:28 (eighteen years ago) link

oops, looks like bangface is a no go then:/

working next weekend:/

perhaps i will go home for the weekend:/

terry lennox. (gareth), Thursday, 9 March 2006 10:42 (eighteen years ago) link

Yeah Dog - had no idea you were Tami's boyfriend. I got home and thought, "Shit, I forgot to try and find Tami's boyfriend". So way to go on the random connection.

Minus easter party is Hawtin, Pierce, Magda, Heartthrob and Gaiser. On the 16th down at one of those crappy clubs in the tunnel at London Bridge. Awful venue for such good tunage.

Absolutely no chance of going to Bangface. On first glance it looks like horrendous stuff.

rchinn (rchinn), Thursday, 9 March 2006 11:31 (eighteen years ago) link

16th april?

ambrose (ambrose), Thursday, 9 March 2006 12:14 (eighteen years ago) link

Yes.

rchinn (rchinn), Thursday, 9 March 2006 15:26 (eighteen years ago) link

i like arches under london bridge! i saw...rob hood there last year

i am going to go to this.

terry lennox. (gareth), Thursday, 9 March 2006 15:29 (eighteen years ago) link

i want to hear Tranquilizer, or is it Sleepchamber. im mixing up with Paul Hazel now. Anyway, none of that matters really

in other news, Man Like Woebot is rinsing out the krautrock dubplates at roughneck kosmischey night at old blue last, on sunday night.

Da Dizzler Terry L (gareth), Thursday, 9 March 2006 15:33 (eighteen years ago) link

i thought that hawtin easter party was at plastic people, sponsored by lost?

emma cleveland (emma cleveland), Monday, 13 March 2006 20:33 (eighteen years ago) link

Bugged Out this Saturday anyone? I'm not sure whether or not Miss Kittin is actually any cop as a DJ but I am fully fit and ready to play.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 13 March 2006 20:51 (eighteen years ago) link

after last weekends debacle, of actually managing nothing, i am primed like dean ashton

red flag over st pancras (gareth), Monday, 13 March 2006 20:58 (eighteen years ago) link

Hawtin in arches sounds top. But Superpitcher/Mayer the weekend after sounds even better. I can't really do both - my knees will die.

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 13 March 2006 21:04 (eighteen years ago) link

is that at fabric? bah!

cant find out nything about this m_nus night. can anyone provide sources for anything like this? the m_nus site is awful

ambrose (ambrose), Monday, 13 March 2006 21:17 (eighteen years ago) link

Minus Minimize to Maximize tour details here on Resident Advisor.

This weekend I am doing M.A.N.D.Y., Craig Richards, DK7, Damian Lazarus at Fabric on Saturday.

rchinn (rchinn), Monday, 13 March 2006 23:16 (eighteen years ago) link

so its a joint thing with Lost? ooh

red flag over st pancras (gareth), Tuesday, 14 March 2006 10:59 (eighteen years ago) link

i'm doing bugged out yes yes yes i am.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 14 March 2006 14:30 (eighteen years ago) link

I am going to see Mandy and Michael Mayer on Thursday, finally something decent in Dublin! I haven't been this excited about a gig I'm not playing at or involved with in about 3 years. Mind you I'd be more excited if I could take drugs.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 14 March 2006 15:02 (eighteen years ago) link

r: :/

l: sorry about the other night dude, my phone, doesnt seem to understand your number, and pretends it isnt in there, and i dont know who it is.

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 14 March 2006 15:06 (eighteen years ago) link

charlton, my phone does that if I have the person's name in twice, that could be the problem

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 14 March 2006 15:11 (eighteen years ago) link

im feeling myself again today

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 14 March 2006 15:41 (eighteen years ago) link

Who else is coming to Bugged Out then? Lex, can you get guestlist again?

I am going to give RacistJustice a miss tonight, I think. I'm going wine tasting (!) tomorrow and a hangover is probably a bad thing in those circumstances.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 17 March 2006 13:58 (eighteen years ago) link

haven't been able to get guestlist for everyone again, no - even my +1 is a paying one.

where is marianna? is she coming?

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 17 March 2006 14:18 (eighteen years ago) link

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 17 March 2006 14:29 (eighteen years ago) link

last time i went to Optimo@Our Disco it was fantastic although that was at Plastic People. i'm v tempted to stay in tonight and come out for this tomorrow.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Friday, 17 March 2006 17:13 (eighteen years ago) link

where should i dance in london? mind you, i do not 'dance' per se (i have been known to make semi-coordinated upper body movements when seated not capable of duplication when standing). nor do i drink very much. nor do i go to clubs in new york evar. but it seems the thing to do in london town and it might be interesting to walk around and observe people and lights and milieu and hear distinctly across-the-pond sounds. fabric, then? or end/aka? tell me of notting hill arts club.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 17 March 2006 17:19 (eighteen years ago) link

This question is unanswerable until you tell us when you're actually in London. I'm sure you've mentioned it on another thread I've missed, but really, everything depends on what's happening on any one weekend. The End, for example, can be awesome one weekend and rubbish the next.

Frankly, the same goes for pretty much everything in this city.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 18 March 2006 00:09 (eighteen years ago) link

unanswerable!

(i get in at night on fri the 24th and leave after noon on fri the 31st. i think the sat and one or both of the tues and wed will be good nights for going out.)

gabbneb (gabbneb), Saturday, 18 March 2006 03:00 (eighteen years ago) link

I can't decide between Bugged v Canvas (more likely as it's free) v staggering home drunk after o-ding on fish pie at Robster's (v likely as I live around the corner).

Hmm.

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Saturday, 18 March 2006 07:56 (eighteen years ago) link

optimo!

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 18 March 2006 09:40 (eighteen years ago) link

although,

argy!

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 18 March 2006 09:43 (eighteen years ago) link

If I wasn't suffering from an annoying cold, I wd be def rocking the Optimo tip instead of Bugged Out.

RickyT (RickyT), Saturday, 18 March 2006 09:47 (eighteen years ago) link

gareth, am meeting ambrose later, call me

Ed (dali), Saturday, 18 March 2006 09:48 (eighteen years ago) link

Yeah.Optimo.

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Saturday, 18 March 2006 09:54 (eighteen years ago) link

i have a feeling someone will play Secret Cinema tonite

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 18 March 2006 10:51 (eighteen years ago) link

I would prefer Optimo, I think, Bugged Out isn't going to go away and will probably be rocking that exact same lineup in the not-too-distant future.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 18 March 2006 11:16 (eighteen years ago) link

tonight will be busy. bugged out, then MANDY @ fabric, then hopefully optimo.

rchinn (rchinn), Saturday, 18 March 2006 11:34 (eighteen years ago) link

If I can do Optimo, Matt, I'll let you know.

Hal! Jordan! HAL! JORDAN! (Barima), Saturday, 18 March 2006 12:49 (eighteen years ago) link

Optimo people - the Lex and I will be meeting at The Castle from 9-9.30ish. Come along.

It's just occurred to me the last time I saw Optimo (at Plastic People) was exactly a year ago today.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 18 March 2006 18:39 (eighteen years ago) link

the best night out i've had in a long while, if not ever. (okay I am mostly ignoring pre-1am)

it was lovely to meet you, Ambrose!

permanent revolution (cis), Sunday, 19 March 2006 08:21 (eighteen years ago) link

That was so weird - pre 1am it was shockingly bad and then pretty much as soon as Twitch came on and thereafter it became THE BEST THING EVER! Especially hearing Silent Shout out and the Justified and Ancient moment.

Good to see Ambrose again, and meet Twitch properly for the first time. I'm going to sleep for three days now.
