"Can I Play With Madness?" by Iron Maiden describes how Bruce Dickinson decides to leave the band and join Madness, only being told by the Nutty Boys on arrival in Camden Town that they, in fact, already have a perfectly serviceable singer in the form of Suggs, leaving poor Bruce to traipse back home to learn that the dude from Wolfsbane had been appointed in his place.

"Motorcycle Emptiness" by Manic Street Preachers is obviously about James Dean Bradfield discovering on a trip back home to Wales along the M4 that the tank of his beloved Kawasaki was in fact, empty, and having to traipse six miles along the hard shoulder to Magor Services and return via the same route with a jerry can of Super Unleaded.
