Some good news at last.

Yeah I’m interpreting it as him being gobsmackingly ignorant or blind towards racism rather than it being intended as a racist insult but even so it’s a fucking shocker of a tweet

yes i think his emerging line is "i don't really pay any attention to the royals, it's all just a distant circus to me" -- but "i fucked up bcz i wasn't even slightly paying attention" isn't much of a defence for a very highly paid media professional really

his general persona/personality has been even more unpleasant than usual for a long time. this sort of macho, ranting idiocy:

obviously there were his (unintentionally) amusing tweets when england lost to iceland in the euros also - he comes across like a football alex jones.

i don't know the business but maybe sometimes the suits are just looking for the first good excuse that comes along

Did he tho? His line seems to be "he would have", not "he did" amd no one seems to have dug out these alleged tweets.
