theyre both valid angles and i can take both as required
trippier has no inherent limiter on not playing the opposition onside or being the wrong side of his man. nothing and nobody makes him cross the ball as stupidly and poorly as he did last night and many times this season his lazy execution or planning of a pass has cost us or almost cost us. hes a professional footballer and absurdly easy on himself about not cleaning up his own sloppiness. no pass from me for that.
all of these things have been observable from day one this season and no alternative has been realistically available, save for aurier or kwp stepping up (neither has consistently done so so as to be an actual replacement). we have tried each and have played sissoko either there or in an alternate role or in a niche babysitting role at times. we are now playing a young centre half there at times. its safe to say a problem is recognised.
being unwilling to relax the demands on the position in order to perhaps safeguard or refocus on the positional/defensive area of the game seems not to be a valid consideration- blind spot from the manager here imo but the squad is in bits and what can you do. so in knowing the cunt will fuck us again and again, youd allow that a manager might attempt whatever is in his power to ameliorate or mitigate, so poch out an all
