If you build up an ancient supernatural threat over the course of a show you have to save that for last, or next to last, unless you have something better up your sleeve.The very first episode back in Season 1 opened with a white walker horror sequence, after all.

Rewound and rewatched, unclear if woman hauled off by her feet at 1.03 is gilly or not? Obvs you are right that would be a severely ignominious send off so i suppose its unlikely.
Gotta admit that i was really hoping night king kills everyone and this becomes cersei vs night king battle royale. Not too excited to see this play out as is.

Also wanna point out that danys “think i’ll just park this dragon in a field of undead” strategy was the dumbest shit move in an episode packed with dumb shit moves

Yeah I’m unsure of the fate of Dragon #2, seems like a dumb thing to have Jon become a dragon rider just so he can...almost kill the wight-dragon.

Then again, the post-books era of this show has been full of dumb things

The Night King's dramatic hubris and love affair with the cameras was his undoing in the end.

I think GRR Martin set up too many threads and he couldn't sew it without a brute force tidy-up situation with a deus ex machina and that's what this was, and they probably couldn't have done it better

I will say that with all the money on heaven and Earth to make the greatest score history has ever seen, Ramin Djawadi still composes like Philip Glass if he was hungover and late for a lunch meeting

Oh and the show runners and writers and the actor herself gave Melisandre a wonderfully emotional end, probably the best moment in the episode imo was the look of hope and confusion she did the prayer thing

Nah. I had to turn the brightness up for some scenes

Trash. I love how the big battle they have been setting up since S1E1 ends in a single episode (one in which they spend the first 10 minutes picking around) with no deaths of any consequence. Everyone has known Jorah was going to die saving Dany for at least four seasons and Grey Worm is a redshirt that got a few (too many) lines. Makes you think that Jon was a big idiot for running around scaring everyone for six seasons with talk of the end of the world.
