i think i threw octopath a tiny number of points. i liked the idea of it more than the execution, i'm afraid. i didn't ever finish it tho, perhaps i'll go back at some point.

octopath has a good rpg system and some cool story beats but the structure just doesn't work out. i still threw it some points since i like the moment to moment gameplay and the music a ton

Holedown was 2018’s only real good mobile time waster that I glommed on to and I got to the end too fast

Yeah same, sure I played Wordament years ago, am I misremembering? Was I playing on PC or something?

Just bought Holedown, looks like a fun time!

Also I'm downloading Wordament because heaven knows that I need something besides boring kindle books to read on my commutes.

That was my ballot, wordament which got a story mode (kind of, there’s no story but I dunno there are “worlds” and xp and levels)

and waku waku sweets is fun make gestures to make foods I like food games a lot

Katamari Damacy is good in any year <3

I think NBA Playgrounds was a late cut for me. I love the game, but it's way too hard to unlock players without spending money.

i keep forgetting that katamari is on switch thanks to it coming out the same day as smash

I voted for Katamari, first time the original game has ever had a UK release and it's almost as good as the second game, so much better than everything that came after those first two.

There it is (re: Gravity Rush 2). It has a few stretches of tedious/bad gameplay (boo to the stealth sections), the controls can be fussy, but the writing, design, and general ambiance are superb and all add up to some undeniable charm -- the nightclub sequence is such a delightful moment that outshined all of the other flaws of the game.

For a game that doesn't seem to have had a lot of support behind it, the localization is remarkably polished.

For the Baldur’s Gate/Icewind Dale/Neverwinter Nights nostalgics among us, Pathfinder: Kingmaker is worth your time (well, almost, as it’s exceedingly long).

i am the sole voter for kiwami 2! play it you poxy fules

they moved it to the engine from 6 instead of the engine from 0 (as kiwami 1 was), gave majima a (very short) side story mode that is quietly lovely (but also has him, uh, stabbing people like that, because majima), more of the minigames and weirdness you've grown to love. I have heard that Yakuza 2 is one of the less-loved ones in the series, which I guess has me pretty stoked for 3/4/5 because I thought it was great!!
