Macro dosing film critic had me in stitches. Pretty spotty episode otherwise though nephew skit was great and I have to admit touchy Biden was good.

All of Weekend Update was better than average. Aidy was so good in the nephew sketch.

All in all pretty good one although harrington is as good at comedy as he is at other kinds of acting.

harrington gave a hilariously blank performance in andy samberg's 7 days in hell.

I'm never likely to watch SNL as it's not shown in the UK, but from what I can tell from this tweet, fuck them all forever

So true. Wonderful tribute to a woman who didn't create Brexit but is forced to deal with it.

SNL's politics are conservative/reactionary, just like any org with a rich 74-yo Democrat at the helm

I love the AV Club's SNL recap/reviews because the dude who writes them is literally enraged, every week, that he had to take 90 minutes out of his week to watch jokes that were not about how Donald Trump is the most evil person in human history and should be subject to mob execution.

The Deirdre/Jared short should've been in the first hour.

another dire episode with maybe two funny bits. I'm old and have no idea who BTS are but I agree with teenagers across the world that they were the best thing on the show.

che and jost are both terrible. che just thinks being mean-spirited and mumbly is edgy humor, but it just makes him a dickhead who is difficult to understand

That should be more of a factor when deciding whether or not to watch Saturday Night Live, rather than when deciding who should be on Saturday Night Live.

wtf Jost is easily the best cast member besides McKinnon rn, not saying much but I like his watered down Norm MacDonald schtick fine. now I will read this article... "sucking off stray dogs" is a good line tbh

Hyden coming back to Jost and Johansson dating again and again in that article is really lame, but he's clearly a fan of his show (his baseball club is otm and how I feel about SNL, albeit as a much more casual fan/observer). Can't say I disagree with much else, I didn't know Jost was an Ivy League boy, that changes things considerably imo.

I saw a bunch of Ghost In The Shell on Hulu. It wasn't nearly as terrible as the cultural appropriation outrage police made it out to be. I hold her working with Woody Allen three times against her way more than GitS.

Chevy Chase made his SNL bones a host of Weekend Update and he was pretty bad, too.

The smug preppy asshole is a dependable comic persona, and while I don't think that Colin Jost is its best current practitioner (that'd be Anthony Jeselnik), he plays the part pretty well, and I enjoy him (and Che) on Update most of the time.

It suddenly occurred to me how many SNL cast members of that era became afaict prominent Hollywood Republicans. Victoria Jackson, Dennis Miller, Rob Schneider, David Spade, Adam Sandler, even GE Smith, if his appearance at the RNC convention was anything to go on.
