I've decided that when I get married, my song is going to be "True Colors" so that I can watch people try to keep a straight face.

either that, or I want it to be played at my funeral in a candlelight vigil. As my one last sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek hurrah.

i believe i am going to see LIMP WRIST tonight, for free, at the SF Eagle. if you do not know Limp Wrist...http://www.myspace.com/limpwrist

i used to be friends with martine and andrew back in the day (like the 90s jesus). should be an interesting crowd-- leather daddies, punk kiddies, some indie fuxxors....

also, i got a job interview!

decline of jay but also harking back to heyday
hypercompressed suburb rock (numetal-emo)
bootlegging (iPodclectecism)
its both uniting and divisive and i'm pretty sure nobody above 24 can stand it.

I don't know how serious I'm being.

Hai gayz. I'm with my best friend again. We're having the time of our lives and have been for the last 8 hours. We're going to the cemetery soon.

One thing I wanted to share with you at this time is this song by Husker Du (singer Bob Mould is gay as everyone knows). This is an early one of theirs that some people say is about a girl being raped, I don't know if it is, but I don't care if it is, I think his aims are righteous even if it is and I just love the way the song goes, the riff, all of it. Thanking U.

sooo nice out today! happy weekend

surm, Saturday, 13 June 2009 16:02 (fourteen years ago) link

Hi Surm! (BTW I think Jordan was wrong...you didn't need to change your screen name at all if you didn't want to, and in any case Surm isn't as good or descriptive as Surmounter)

If that link above still doesn't work, just double click it, thanks. Me & my friend are off to the cemetery now. I'm so happy when I'm with him. I want to be with him all the time. It's not even a sexual thing anymore, I'm just so happy when I'm with him.

I read that Chastity Bono (child of Sonny & Cher I guess) has recently announced she is changing her sex to male. (Or he is). She came out as lesbian 20 years ago it said. I personally can't relate to FTM transsexuals who come out of the lesbian community very well (I always liked men), but hey, godspeed.

Fever Pitch, Bitch (Bimble), Saturday, 13 June 2009 16:05 (fourteen years ago) link

By the same token, I can't relate as well to Male-To-Females who come out of the gay community. It's a totally different thing when you come out of the straight community.

That said, I'm bisexual and I always will be. Sorry.

Speaking of New Jersey! I just told my best friend a story about an hour ago about when I was about 18 and had just graduated from high school and spent a summer on the New Jersey shore.

Peace ya'll. We're going to the graveyard again! But this time the mausoleums!!! Woohoo! I've been waiting for this. Love you all. Thanks for listening.

went to a match game parody at the LGBT center last night. the contestants were lisa whelchel (drag queen), miss piggy (ridden with swine flu), charles nelson reilly, cher (NOT a drag queen), ricardo montalban, and margot kidder (drag queen, played by someone who was on buffy!). chas bono's sex change was the source of many jokes, natch

hey gays--

really feeling the new thread already, thanx to joe "donna rouge" for the great title and to everyone else for making it happen.

i went to pride last weekend, the fest was "OK" but everything else sucked. it sucked last year too. i couldn't get any drinks, the entertainment was some youtube drag queen with stupid opinions 4 u, lots of attitude on display. i think it's like new years--always gonna be a let down--plus bleaaaarggh gay ghetto vibe. saw the juan maclean on thursday which was not at a gay club or anything but felt gayer than anything during pride .. because the band was amazing, people were having a fucking blast dancing, no bitchez bitching about other bitchez, etc.

oh hai x-post

i think i may miss out on a number of providence pride festivities this year because my younger bro's graduation party is that day, though i'm pretty sure that is no huge loss for me

roman knockwell (elmo argonaut), Saturday, 13 June 2009 19:31 (fourteen years ago) link

the club scene on pride night is usually some blown-out drunken shit show, which is not to say it can't be fun, but i don't think i'll be getting blackout drunk and cavorting in an above-ground pool like i did 2 years ago

any by the way, why do banks and cellphone companies get to set up booths at pride festivals anyway? that sort of transparent community/corporate PR bullshit pisses me off

the club i went to on saturday night was sooo packed. they have a weird outdoor space that's two levels with a two-lane walkway connecting every high-traffic spot in the place, i got stuck in that heart of darkness for about 15 minutes just getting shoved around.

attacking me for no reason after i gave my honest opinion is definitely dud. if you knew how many people i've known who've moved in with someone, had the relationship go sour, and then suddenly been homeless, you'd understand. obviously, you're not one for that, so why did you ask in the first place?

my bach penises and their contrapuntal technique (the table is the table), Thursday, 17 September 2009 00:03 (fourteen years ago) link

knowing each other for 2 months before moving in is like, lightning fast lesbian cohabitation pace. BUT that doesn't mean it can't work. I'd think the success will depend on how much time you spend together / how well you know each other already, and how adaptable you both are willing to be in the new situation. Knowing practically zero about your relationship, I can't really say what sort of change you're in for. sometimes circumstances can dictate the pace of development for the relationship, and that's natural -- if your living situation with your folks really isn't working for you, you may benefit from the move just by improving your digs -- otoh, needing to move out may or may not be a good motivation here. i really can't say for your situation.
