the only United States of America I want anything to do with

xp: the first Bang album is the one that everyone raves about - i think it's pretty good. But Mother is definitely a good listen and I love it when I'm playing it for someone who's never heard it and their version of "No Sugar Tonight" comes on

disc 1 with the Shh!lp and the spoken word stuff about apocalyptic bombing etc. LP is pretty heavy dark ambient stuff.

//e.snmc.io/i/300/s/96e4e5f28df81f6afa389965b2a8acb5/1382042
I think I'm a lot more familiar with the next lp HBD but this is great. Possibly a bit more poppy but nice droney stuff. Has anybody else than Human Beast done rock covers of their material from either here or HBD?

2nd disc from this . She gets pretty secular in places . Great use of electric guitar throughout.

mainly disc 3 so far
Esoteric recently reissued this as a 3cd compilation including a lot of previously unreleased stuff. Disc 3 has material recorded by the band with new members playing electric instruments. Retains the hypnotic droning of the acoustic band but has electric basslines etc.

3rd lp by Japanese One time Group Sounds band has them getting pretty heavy & where it works this is great hard rock stuff.

late 40s recordings by him as part of a couple of electric trios. I think I mainly know his songs from recordings by Rockabilly artists about 10 years later but this is blues

//e.snmc.io/i/300/s/4aa8ec2b875062101d760910c4da4066/2755752
turn of the 70s psych with great guitar. I got the Lion version.

purely instrumental lp from 2017 by a band I know cos its on Cardinal Fuzz.

Yeah Esoteric are doing all the lps, they did Elements at the same time as Macbeth last month or the one before. & Alchemy has come out now. I think as a 2cd. They have things like Peel Sessions, Live recordings and other stuff on.
2nd disc of this s/t which is now called Elements is the soundtrack to Abelard and Heloise which was thought lost for decades.

//e.snmc.io/i/300/s/11958cf2194fde74488575e0d5602f6c/6194861
Black punk band from the late 70s who sound utterly prescient of later punk/metal development. Guitar is a turbulent wash.
Drummer wound up in the late era New York Dolls then the Heartbreakers when Jerry Nolan had either left or was otherwise disposed. & the band had practised at the NYD practise space from early on. I think they formed in 1974 so had been around for a while before punk.
They wound up being managed by Curtis Knight who I think Jimi hendrix had had trouble with and he stopped them from getting well paying work on several occasions. Also this lp which was recorded in 1978 took years to come out leaving their only contemporary release being a single featuring a cover of These Boots are Made for Walking.
This version comes with a half hour live dvd that i've yet to watch.

//e.snmc.io/i/300/s/40f206f117d3c8a8dbc99faac6b613ba/1528773
Great lp though th eband themselves didn't like it. Nice combination of soul influences, fuzz guitar and some psych .
Would like to hear what would have been the result iuf they had the management/backing that they deserved. The more contemporary sounding tracks here are quite good. BUt I think they felt they were stuck in a style that they were already moving away from. Still fuzz-guitar version of Barefooting is pretty necessary.
THis also has an 11 minute jam on Wang Dang Doodle that is pretty classic.
Scott Morgan has a great voice, his next bands Guardian Angel and Sonics Rendezvous Band are both worth hearing.

somehow I missed this album completely. I'm familiar enough with the others and like them to varying degrees but I'm really into this one and it's early post-psych-pre-progness

Also this, which made me hunt it down:

Reminding me to kick myself for not picking up more Jazz actuel stuff when I saw it cheap in FOPP a couple of years back. Guess I only had so much money but still.
Did get the AEOC set and think I got the various artists 3cd from there. But could have done with more.
