I should mention my favourite, most timely joke: it involved the word "problematic."

That was the beginning of the joke--it was the second half I loved, the thing she said as an aside.

Right, I gotcha.

Just finished bingeing this - perfect show. Loved the entire aesthetic - costuming, staging, music - and loved Natasha and everyone else. Loved that is was fun and dark and not dragged out and not too heavy.

Mine, kinder? If so I thought I came up with a good joke but may have actually forgotten that darraghmac came up with it!

I remembered it being a deems display name but can only find cutty using it (in 2010 so ripe for a resurgence!)

Forgive the thread spam, but I wanted to note that this show's 2019 season is nominated in the 2019 ILX TV poll:
ILX's Best Television of 2019 Poll / VOTING AND CAMPAIGNING THREAD / Voting Ends January 31
If you like this show and you'd like to see it have a good showing in the poll (running in February) all you need to do is submit a ballot including it and your other favorites (4 minimum, 25 maximum, organized by your favorite to least favorite) to forksclovetofu at gmail by end of day today. It'll take five minutes; get to it!

I probably said as much earlier: having a hard time seeing how they extend this into another season. (Can't remember if the end of the first set that up.)
― clemenza, Monday, 7 March 2022 18:35 (two years ago) link
It didn't. That one reason I want to see how they justify it.

When they cast Annie Murphy I figured it would be about her, but I guess it once again stars Natasha Lyonne?
― Josh in Chicago, Monday, 7 March 2022 20:02 (two years ago) link
i dearly hope they do not try to build off the prior season and just do something different
― i cannot help if you made yourself not funny (forksclovetofu), Monday, 7 March 2022 20:52 (two years ago) link
Surely they would have to. Maybe a new decade, like they do on For All Mankind.

It's set 4 years later. There's other information out there, but not sure if people want to reveal that stuff here
― rob, Monday, 7 March 2022 21:55 (two years ago) link
I have to say I rewatched this recently and, despite really liking it the first time, I found it borderline unbearable until Charlie Barnett shows up
― rob, Monday, 7 March 2022 21:59 (two years ago) link
I kinda don’t want to know anything about what’s going to happen, gonna dive in when S2 surfaces
Goddamn. This is gonna be a year of returning TV for me innit

Have watched 2 episodes so far and really liking it a lot. For some reason the humour element works for me much more this time than it did in series 1.
― Luna Schlosser, Thursday, 21 April 2022 17:01 (two years ago) link
halfway through, not really feeling this season so far tbh, can't quite put my finger on why
a bit hopeful it'll resolve in a way that redeems the whole season
― Murgatroid, Thursday, 21 April 2022 17:14 (two years ago) link
Just finished this. It is a bit mixed. Although I like the ambition of opening the series beyond NY to Budapest and Berlin, it didn’t work as well as the more contained first series. I also didn’t like some of the rather heavy handed resolution in the final episode.Still plenty to enjoy in this series though.
― Luna Schlosser, Saturday, 23 April 2022 13:15 (two years ago) link
Can someone convince me to proceed beyond Episode 3? Just not feeling it.
― Legalize Suburban Benches (Raymond Cummings), Sunday, 24 April 2022 15:02 (two years ago) link
I know this won’t happen, but wouldn’t it be cool to have a single surprise episode of this show (in whatever season) where nothing weird happens, where the main characters just rub up against each other?
