It's not that people don't know I'm here: I'm fine with people know I'm here, deanomgwtf!!! It's that stuff-being-printed-under-my-name is quite a great deal different from talking- about-it-under-a-googleproofed-version-of-my-name-on-a-thread. That anybody here thinks "oh what's the big deal: talking on a forum, printing it in a book - what's the diff?" really exacerbates how shitty the whole thing makes me feel. I'm not "ashamed of what I wrote," todd - it was a conversation I was having with friends, not something I wanted preserved in print. It has nothing to do with imagining that people can't find me here - of course that's OK! It has to do with being printed/preserved for posterity in a way I didn't want. The idea that one should be as careful with one's words on an internet forum as one is when writing for print seems so patently ridiculous as to spurn further comment.

I'm gonna leave this thread & the forum now for real, as my attemps to clarify my position are just making me angrier & angrier. Bye everybody.

I mean, Jesus Christ, we're in the U.S. Would it kill any of these clowns to do what generations of immigrants and settlers have done and respect the fact that the predominant language is and should be English? It's not like it'd be a case of banishing Spanish completely from the U.S.; no, you should be able to speak Spanish at home and around the neighborhood, though not to the detriment of a child's understanding and comprehension of English. If these people want to operate on a policy of Spanish-first, they should just return back to whatever Spanish-speaking country they or their forebearers come from.

and NOW i cannot see 77 any more, and have been kicked off it (?). probably because max or whoever wanted me kicked off it so whatever was being said about me, could continue

so okay. i'm not just trying to point out the massive contradictions here... its okay, i should obviously deal with the fact that i'm apparently one of the most worthless ilx posters since i used to write about astrology (never mind roxy and her tarot cards!). and tom IS right w/r/t how i've never really been that funny online either, and i've spent too much of my time here arguing arcane subjects that go over people's heads (i'll miss you Kenan). i did make some interesting friends in the process though

i really shouldn't be on ilx after wasting 8 years of my life, on and off, here in the first place - i have other things going on -and i only got here because i followed Al!y K from alt.music, who i used to write to way back in 1998! there's so much more i "should" deal with now, and i shouldn't have returned after grad school out of curiosity anyway (it was because i finished my film, and had time to kill). also because i still regularly talk to c0ry, and he isn't here now anyway (i missed his outing as well)

but get real. enough with trying to pretend that you endlessly clever assholes aren't always talking shit about someone else here. secret borads or not.
