Not sure if there's a Carabao thread but I greatly enjoyed David Luiz electing to nonchalantly pass it back to the keeper with Aguero standing right between them. Peak David Luiz.

๐ณ - Have you EVER seen anything like it!?Maurizio Sarri tries to substitute Kepa Arrizabalaga for Willy Caballero, but Kepa refuses to come off and Sarri is absolutely FURIOUS! ๐ก pic.twitter.com/Q81v6ry3Kk— Sky Sports Football (@SkyFootball) February 24, 2019
― Uptown VONC (Le Bateau Ivre), Sunday, 24 February 2019 20:31 (five years ago) link
i think player power is more a question of realpolitik than professional ethics nowadays but on the other hand Sarri should have twatted the cunt by way of a resignation letter
― See me in mi heels an' tinge (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 24 February 2019 20:34 (five years ago) link
Maurizio Sarri says the Kepa substitution confusion was 'a big misunderstanding' because he thought the player had cramp. However he says Kepa was right that he could continue although the way he went about it was wrong. Sarri says he needs to talk to Kepa now. #CHEMCI— Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) February 24, 2019

Such a pity Sarri didn't just walk off, as he intended to do, but then he remembered all that money.

Don't worry NV we are just having 90 minute training sessions in this extended pre-season for 19/20 in the champo, normal bogey-side rules don't apply any more.
Wagner for Rodgers would be a fucking massive upgrade imo.

Feels like the league has moved on a very long way from Rodgersball in the last few years. Looking forward to the Sturridge-Vardy dream team upfront though.

a debut for an academy kid at RB, Mooy on the bench, two up front including our recent L1 signing. Might as well try different players/formations out at this stage and at least Siewart has noticed Hadj is stealing a wage, cos poor DW seemed oblivious to how badly he was performing.

― Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Tuesday, 26 February 2019 19:59 (five years ago) link
we were always going to be a stepping stone for Rodgers, and he was unlikely to do any better than mid-table when coming back to the prem - hard to launder your reputation that much by doing well in Scotland, especially with the relative resources of Celtic vs the rest up there - lot of the Celtic fans are in disbelief though, and he's probably rendered himself an enduring hate-figure.

rude-awakening to those in Scotland who haven't accepted that we're closer to being on par, in terms of resources, with championship sides, at best

― calzino, Tuesday, 26 February 2019 20:09 (five years ago) link
In terms of resources, Celtic are Championship level - the rest of them are nowhere near that, don't forget Aberdeen lost one of their star players to a non-league club.
― Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Tuesday, 26 February 2019 20:11 (five years ago) link
