to add to it, another issue is that ilx rules are applied extremely inconsistently so the ruling is unfair whichever way you slice it

on the receiving end of the banned user, it appears as if ilx is cliquey and hive-minded, which is actually just an illusion that even some ilx'ers buy into, but it nevertheless feeds into that corrupt ideology

I am generally against banning posters and don’t think fred and nerdstrom are really of the same fiber. fred infuriates me on a daily basis, but he’s clearly a thoughtful person, and, agree or disagree with him, there is at least some semblance of humanity in whatever he’s saying. nerdstrom posted here solely to get a rise out of other posters and never displayed anything resembling original, considered thought. he was a troll and no one will miss him.
