Mordy made a good point upthread (not solely because it’s a partial and honestly brave defense of me). A thread for one political candidate where no criticism is allowed? I hadn’t considered how problematic that aspect of it was before.

However that thread was worth it for a slept on moment that I hope you guys didn’t miss in which Whiney assuaged people’s concerns about Bernie’s age by reminding us that Queen Elizabeth is 92 years old.

Now that was an enjoyable moment that only came about as a consequence of a concern I happen to have voiced and would we really want to erase that?

there are tons of posters whose political opinions constantly baffle me and with whom i regularly disagree. you do not see me calling them trolls.

go read through the 2020 dem primary thread. if you really come away thinking NP is just a sincere sharer of unpopular opinions and the critics are unfairly ganging up on him, i don't know what to tell you.

The abuse thread just received upthread is unwarranted, I’ve seen treat everyone with nothing but respect and effectively undermines the case many of you are trying to make here.

Also what’s seen as “trolling” is often just ways of phrasing and tenors that are uniformly spread throughout the board if we are being honest, something seeped into the dna of the place.

We are being arbitrary and unwilling to elevate ourselves if we pretend it’s justifiable to isolate blame in the direction of one guy.

NP is not half the asshole some (plenty) of other posters are. Hell, he's even less of an asshole than me, I think. I can think of at least a half dozen people I'd kick out before him.

I do, for the most part. I skimmed through posts from past few months, the person I saw him in conflict with the most was Simon H., who is an absolute nugget.
