I've bought the game, played for 2 hours today amd I still don't understand most od this thread. great fun so far though.

finally managed to get to the second boss

got my first couple of colourless weapons too. erring towards brutality builds atm: had a good thing going earlier w the infantry bow (criticals at short range) and marksman's bow (criticals at long range)

Oh so the Spartan sandals I unlocked are no longer a curse!

The "kill 30/60 enemies without taking damage" bonus is an awesome new development... encourages more careful play (over speedy play) and my game is getting better. In previous versions it was the move to try and pick up as many scrolls as possible and so the timed doors meant speed speed speed. Now there's no reason to power through.

I'm also noticing that gold is more valuable now, in terms of upgrading your gear... maybe it's just me but I'm finding myself having to make hard decisions.

I've been trying to win again at 1 BC with the update, trying purple and red builds (green builds are less viable now that legendaries are less common). Haven't been successful, haven't even made it to the Time Keeper. I love this game

I couldn't either! It hits a tipping point and then starts to meet you halfway.

Actually beat the final boss the first time i got to him! Freeze blast and a powered-up oiled sword + autocrossbow and bear traps got the job done pretty easily.

I nearly beat him and was plentily powerful, had his health bar down to about a centimetre but then stood spamming the L2 button for about instead of L1 to use potion and walked hopelessly into spikes. 1 hour 37 of patient, fluent prep ruined by 2 seconds of co-ordination meltdown.

i do something very similar in that situation (and also in dark souls). it is very frustrating.

That cursed sword run just makes me want to stop playing this game tbh

Whew, a Tactics build changes the whole game! I started playing with two ice shards (or one fire and one ice) and two turrets--cheesing as much as I could by dragging a turret around with the homunculus head--and got the 2nd and 3rd boss cells in just a couple of hours.

Wowwwww that's amazing. I've beat 1st but not 2nd. Gotta get more into tactics builds I guess
