last night at work i listened to both of these for the first time.
both are wonderful but i would have voted for tribo massahi. "kirshnanda" is a very heavy record and i'm certain that further listens will reveal many things. but "estrelando embaixador" just blew me away right away, a new favorite. i love the heavy reverb call-and-response vocals (reminiscent of "os afro-sambas" imo) and the very american r&b inspired bass playing.
what's up for vol. 2 ?

how about "onda nova do brasil" by luiz eca & sagrada familia vs. quarteto em cy's 1972 s/t? or jards macale's "so morto" vs. jose mauro's "obnoxious"?
or something else, i don't really know that much about mpb
