Every Derek/martini moment killed. Jason Mantzoukas is consistently hilarious in every show he's on. He should be on more shows.― Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Sunday, 20 January 2019 3:22 AM (one week ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

I laughed so hard at the martini gags.

the only reason i watched the league was the potential of mantzoukas popping up at any given moment

strangely i don't like his movie podcast -- there's another guy on it who always shouts over everyone. (also their movie tastes don't line up with my own, but whatever.)

I've stopped listening to Comedy Bang Bang except for episodes with Mantzoukas. I miss him on Brooklyn Nine-Nine too.

Paul Scheer! I find him and Rob Corddry indistinguishably annoying. Was disappointing to see him turn up on Good Place a couple of weeks ago. But then he disappeared again. Good.
Generally any podcast that involves a group of two or three men laughing at their own in-jokes is a hard NO for me, even if I like all the people involved

I might have to check that one out, I do like PFT a lot but it depends on who the other guests are.

I like this show, but I could do without the use of HOLY MOTHERFORKING SHIRTBALLS by self-satisfied drama-club nerds.

If it can pull a Justified (subpar penultimate season followed by return-to-form-and-then-some) then good. Lots of incidental pleasures last season but was generally disappointing.

Sorry to hear about end of the show, but it probably is good that they quit while they're ahead.

Why the hell did it say "to be continued" at the end? How was it different than any other episode (in terms of the level of cliffhanger)?

Idk, Simone was basically dealing with simulation theory, how to act of you don't believe the world is real?

Why the hell did it say "to be continued" at the end? How was it different than any other episode (in terms of the level of cliffhanger)?Like the past two season openers, they made a 1-hour episode, but this time NBC cut it in half to debut the new Schur afterwards.

how to act if you don't believe the world is real?
this is a highly peculiar verbal construct. the fact that this question can be asked is no surety that it has any meaning at all, let alone any conceivable answer.

Oh. Well it seemed to wrapped up close to the same as any other episode so they didn't really have to bother imo.

yeah, full of excellent moments, it just felt underwhelming for a season premiere.btw i have a full-blown crush on chris baker, which just goes onto the pile of crushes i have on the performers in this unfairly attractive show

― Glower, Disruption & Pies (kingfish), Thursday, 3 October 2019 18:57 (four years ago) link
Not sure why, but I feel I’m going to be v disappointed in the series if this last season doesn’t have an emancipatory aspect to it. They’ve covered both moral development but also how an archaic & sclerotic moral system literally dooms everyone within it, and it feels like the final critical task to destroy the illegitimate system and liberate both themselves and humanity.
It seemed like they were giving hints about that at the end of the last season with the “No one is going to save you and fix things, Michael, you have to do it yourself” bits
