get on with it! haha

ok so having put together a singles list in post pub haste last night I awoke late this morning with a start and the realisation that I had somehow omitted my #2 track. I have resubmitted a tracks ballot, although I have no confidence that it matches my previous ballot, if you could see to it that my previous terrible error was corrected then my partner's scorn and disdain for my morning ballot panic will have all have been worth it

'ffs ogmor it's the big garden birdwatch'

imago, Saturday, 26 January 2019 12:04 (five years ago) link

I can confirm the results are bonkers, also there’s a huge song that I thought was a top 20 contender and it is not even in the top 77.

My initial guess was something featuring Dua Lipa or off the Black Panther soundtrack but on reflection probably the most likely outcome is ILM giving the hard 78 to 'This Is America'.

Kicking myself for having forgotten to vote for Homerton B.

Matt DC, Saturday, 26 January 2019 12:12 (five years ago) link

Le voting est terminé!

Come back Monday for trax rollout

seandalai, Saturday, 26 January 2019 12:31 (five years ago) link

any cryptic forewarnings?

imago, Saturday, 26 January 2019 12:37 (five years ago) link

I was so far from understanding my own tracks ballot I gave it up and only submitted an album ballot. Rockist scum that I am.

Good cop, Babcock (Chinaski), Saturday, 26 January 2019 13:26 (five years ago) link

Aww, I'm sure your tracks ballot could have helped a few things I like, lol

imago, Saturday, 26 January 2019 13:34 (five years ago) link

I worry that I've become so suggestible in this regard that I need to see people's ballots before the rollout.

Good cop, Babcock (Chinaski), Saturday, 26 January 2019 13:36 (five years ago) link

Trying to piece it together from the noms thread is just too bewildering.

We're down from the peak of a few years ago (155 album ballots in 2013!) but holding steady.

just dipped my toe in the water with an unranked albums list, which I had to recreate after forgetting to copy my first attempt off my work computer

good luck ilm

any thoughts about including the embedded official youtube with each song? Is that gonna slow down thread loading too much? What do people think?

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Saturday, 26 January 2019 19:47 (five years ago) link

In a year it’ll be a thread of broken embeds.

Non-embedded YT links would be fine I think?

resident hack (Simon H.), Saturday, 26 January 2019 20:42 (five years ago) link

Yeah, YouTube mini links still don't embed on ilx, so that's what I've used for years.

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 26 January 2019 20:51 (five years ago) link

I submitted my ballot hours ago and already I have massive regrets!!

Rod Steel (musicfanatic), Sunday, 27 January 2019 00:33 (five years ago) link

No-one will give a shit what I think, but I wish we'd do this year-end poll in March/April.

I still like listening to Days Are Gone!

Dan S, Sunday, 27 January 2019 01:43 (five years ago) link

I wish we'd do the end of year poll on January first. Also wish we voted for what we listened to in that year instead of what other people listened to and told us about after the year ended. But that ship has sailed many years ago.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 27 January 2019 01:55 (five years ago) link

the closest thing to a good new order single last year was krystal klear - neutron dance

― ufo, Friday, January 11, 2019 10:54 AM (two weeks ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

NOT TRUE. i know i am responding to a two-week-old post, the nominations are over and no one cares, but neutron dance is boring af and the lauer track "power" is an actually fun and engaging new order knock-off:
