flopson, Friday, 18 January 2019 21:27 (five years ago) link

Atropos, the closing track on the Harmony Rockets album is gorgeous.

Good cop, Babcock (Chinaski), Friday, 18 January 2019 21:28 (five years ago) link

xp the maggie album came out today, so you missed nothing

harvey wall/barrier (voodoo chili), Friday, 18 January 2019 21:30 (five years ago) link

flopson, Friday, 18 January 2019 21:35 (five years ago) link

I'm so behind, this extension is very welcome. I can just about manage a 10-album ballot.

jmm, Friday, 18 January 2019 21:39 (five years ago) link

Just voted. Let's go Aviary.

geoffreyess, Friday, 18 January 2019 22:14 (five years ago) link

Bee OK, Saturday, 19 January 2019 02:22 (five years ago) link

thanks for the extension!

zwei dunkel jungen (crüt), Saturday, 19 January 2019 02:25 (five years ago) link

having your #1 track fail to place builds character (also indicates lack of shit taste)

dyl, Saturday, 19 January 2019 02:36 (five years ago) link

Voted. Included one write-in track. Hope that's OK.

Locked in silent monologue, in silent scream (Sund4r), Saturday, 19 January 2019 03:45 (five years ago) link

Voted, cutting it close.

MikoMcha, Saturday, 19 January 2019 08:00 (five years ago) link

the maggie rogers album is superlative starbucks music and I promise I'm not saying that as an insult

resident hack (Simon H.), Saturday, 19 January 2019 08:01 (five years ago) link

Voted (er, a few days ago but forgot to mention it)

Gavin, Leeds, Saturday, 19 January 2019 08:17 (five years ago) link

yes, thanks for the extension to the 25th seandalai!

Dan S, Saturday, 19 January 2019 08:48 (five years ago) link

I nominated “Fallingwater”. It’ll be very high on my ballot - thanks for giving it a shout out Brad.

The album is great - recommended for HAIM fans. There used to be a few of those around here.

monotony, Saturday, 19 January 2019 11:12 (five years ago) link

I just resent my ballot, which was redone a bit. I hope you can replace my old one with the new?

jolene club remix (BradNelson), Saturday, 19 January 2019 14:06 (five years ago) link

I forgot a crucial album in my top 25 and resubmitted (sans tracks ballot this time). Hope it counts, but if not - its not the end of the world.

octobeard, Sunday, 20 January 2019 02:54 (five years ago) link

If you vote again and post here, I'll go back and delete your first ballot.

Yeah, just as guilty, but not seeing Lando Chill's Black Ego was a bit surprising (it's on my list as a write in)

octobeard, Monday, 21 January 2019 21:42 (five years ago) link

we were talking about fake new order?

submitting my ballot today somehow

jolene club remix (BradNelson), Tuesday, 22 January 2019 19:52 (five years ago) link

I've voted, quite surprised by what ended up topping my albums ballot but there were four or five in contention with no frontrunner.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 22 January 2019 19:56 (five years ago) link

And yes, Keflavik made my ballot, that's just glorious.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 22 January 2019 19:56 (five years ago) link

lol that was fast but i'm done! can't wait for the rollout

jolene club remix (BradNelson), Tuesday, 22 January 2019 20:17 (five years ago) link

Oh yeah, that Kasper Marrot song is so good. I thought I had my singles list ready to go, but I might need to reconsider. Still haven't found room for that awesome Toni Braxton single either.

kitchen person, Tuesday, 22 January 2019 22:28 (five years ago) link

Voted! Such a relief to get it sent in. I spent way too long trying to get my tracks list done.

kitchen person, Tuesday, 22 January 2019 22:53 (five years ago) link

I'm a total sucker for fake new order

Buzzed through the tracks playlist, It seems like 50% afropop, which totally rules?

brimstead, Tuesday, 22 January 2019 22:53 (five years ago) link

checks out

harvey wall/barrier (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 22 January 2019 23:29 (five years ago) link

the Kasper Marrot track is great!

Dan S, Tuesday, 22 January 2019 23:48 (five years ago) link

ahhh just putting my ballot together now and somehow we collectively neglected to nominate the Internet's album

monotony, Wednesday, 23 January 2019 02:11 (five years ago) link

deeply regret forgetting Britten's theme for Succession as a track nom; hoping he wins an Oscar for Beale Street

Guided by Voices – That’s Good

this track is awesome, could totally be a "soft bulletin" outtake

budo jeru, Wednesday, 23 January 2019 19:11 (five years ago) link

That's a terrible sales pitch.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 23 January 2019 19:39 (five years ago) link

i'm not trying to sell anything !

it just came on as i was listening playlist and that's what the track reminded me of. why is that terrible

budo jeru, Wednesday, 23 January 2019 19:52 (five years ago) link

E Ruscha V & Woo - Woo Are You

budo jeru, Wednesday, 23 January 2019 20:42 (five years ago) link

playing "osiris" by maisha on bandcamp and "hidden beauties" by ANNA on spotify. wild

budo jeru, Wednesday, 23 January 2019 22:07 (five years ago) link

i should've done this sooner if i were actually gonna get anyone to vote for these, but..

i love the suba album, 'wayang,' which is for if you want tribal drums and kosmische synth to coax you into an out of body experience

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClwaqvT3OWw

and on the same label, geins't naït and laurent petitgand's 'make dogs sing' which is sort of a cozy rainy day soundtrack to falling into a k-hole

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNMAOZmmE6g

i also nominated the job sifre EP het bestaan as an album b/c it's long enough to be a mini LP and every track is great. the one that got me obsessed with job sifre (and his amazing mix series on red light radio) is 'at least we try,' a long, churning, nasty thing that becomes quite beautiful by the end, with a swaying dub bassline and studio-esque melody

suba sounds good, thanks for posting (dipping into the other two rn)

Mother of Mars - Hera In The Valley

wowwwwwwwww

budo jeru, Wednesday, 23 January 2019 23:22 (five years ago) link

seandalai, I submitted two ballots - the first has my correct tracks ballot, the 2nd my correct albums ballot. Is that too complicated to merge? Should I submit a third that has both correct?

octobeard, Thursday, 24 January 2019 00:38 (five years ago) link

I did it, finally!

emil.y, Thursday, 24 January 2019 21:37 (five years ago) link
