Announces they've watched the opposition before every game this season!

Gotta love him really.

Bielsa: "I don't want to compare my behaviour with previous behaviour that are similar. I heard there are others which also affected fair play but absolutely, I don't want to defend myself by attacking others." #lufc

This dude's livetweeting the press conference and I'm enjoying it.

Tim, Wednesday, 16 January 2019 17:18 (five years ago) link

this is superb.

"Apart from the players in a staff, you have around 20 people. These 20 people create a volume of information which is absolutely not necessary. It doesn't define the path of a competition. Why do we do that? Because we feel guilty if we don't work enough."

Is Bielsa the Prime Minister now?

yet

I love how he's now sharing all the illicitly obtained Derby County information for everyone else in the league to see.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 16 January 2019 18:09 (five years ago) link

All I hope is that they were able to get the mole out of Derby before they had the chance to turn him.

dean saunders weighing in on bielsa now. next week we have the drummer from shed 7 talking about how he reckons that max roach didn't do anything he couldn't do.

calzino, Thursday, 17 January 2019 08:26 (five years ago) link

We have turned another corner. Unfortunately they were both ninety degree corners so now we are heading the same way as before, which is out of the league.

Utterly abject. Everyone below us has taken points off us, and have been far better than us when we played them. Even if Nuneaton go under, we will benefit less than the sides under us so we really need them to stay afloat. Grim stuff.

You're still two points ahead of us with two games in hand

the salacious inaudible (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 20 January 2019 21:58 (five years ago) link

We haven't won away since August. 5 of our next 6 are on the road.

national league heavily weighted towards the start of the alphabet this season
darlington are the 12th team alphabetically

not quite as good as ayr being 5th alphabetically out of 10 teams in 2017-18 scottish league one but more teams i guess to best

I want to know what the four A's before them were now, but I'm too lazy to actually google it

the salacious inaudible (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Monday, 21 January 2019 12:27 (five years ago) link

Airdrie
Arbroath
Alloa
Albion Rovers

Would be my guess? Annan another option and Aberdeen obviously too senior.

Emergency board meeting in 10 minutes. Hopefully some decisive action while it's still possible.

Hopefully get rid of the Dymock mafia, whether someone would leave a club at this stage of the season is doubtful so you'd have to be looking at someone currently out of work (e.g. Gary Rowett) or get the Davies/Green partnership back in to try and steady the wheel.

Lots of clamour for Beadle/Jenkins back as expected but them not being able to find another job since - and not even making the Gloucester shortlist - is telling. And holding up Billericay as an example of returns happening before just makes the club sound like a basket case.

We're desperate for a striker and at the weekend I was advocating an old pro, inspired by Jamie Cureton doing a job on us more than once last season. Then today I find Pascal Chimbomba is to play ever further down the pyramid.

Bimlo Horsewagon became Wheelbarrow Horseflesh (aldo), Monday, 21 January 2019 14:07 (five years ago) link

A decent experienced striker can do quite a lot for keeping the team shape together also. There is something slightly tragic about watching one take up a really intelligent position for a particular ball, see the move work as anticipated and then just not have the turn of speed to get there. Cases in point: Clinton Morrison, Marcus Stewart for us. They were both worth the shirt but a tiny bit of extra pace and they'd have been worth a shirt for much better sides than ours.

Tim, Monday, 21 January 2019 14:16 (five years ago) link

IIRG Cureton is the last current professional footballer to have been in FIFA 96? Or one of the last?

Hope yr board makes a good choice.

Tim, Monday, 21 January 2019 14:18 (five years ago) link

Vote of confidence FFS.

congrats on the Dalers on re-signing their fave professional wrestler Grant Holt. I hope they've made sure he can run the width of a pitch within 90 mins.

calzino, Friday, 25 January 2019 11:17 (five years ago) link

He is the width of a pitch IIRC

Tim, Friday, 25 January 2019 11:24 (five years ago) link

him and Lambert were a reet formidable strikeforce at Dale back in the day, maybe time to get the (big) band together - if only just for comedy value.

couldn't be any worse than our overpaid Belgium-beer-monster-with-a-bad-hair-transplant Depoitre tbf.

calzino, Friday, 25 January 2019 11:34 (five years ago) link

Someone has suggested it would be highly unethical to farm out Depoitre to a L2 club, so instead couldnt we just farm him off to a farm instead.

A win for Hereford tonight. FC Utd now second from bottom, six points away from getting out of the relegation zone to a team with two games in hand, or eight points to a team with one game in hand. Not looking good.

the salacious inaudible (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Tuesday, 5 February 2019 22:42 (five years ago) link

I am struggling to believe how we are pulling clear when we are so fucking dreadful. Our goalscorer on Saturday said in the press conference he didn't mean it.

Bimlo Horsewagon became Wheelbarrow Horseflesh (aldo), Tuesday, 5 February 2019 22:53 (five years ago) link

Still getting pleasure from giving Franchise a proper doing on Saturday.

Tim, Tuesday, 5 February 2019 23:15 (five years ago) link

Yet another home defeat and to add insult to injury my train home from Manchester was cancelled. Near certain relegation now.

the salacious inaudible (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Saturday, 9 February 2019 18:42 (five years ago) link

Yeah sorry NBS, there's a gap beginning to open up I think. We're not out of it yet but it's getting there.

calzino, Wednesday, 13 February 2019 22:38 (five years ago) link

World’s most welcome points deduction.

Tim, Wednesday, 13 February 2019 22:45 (five years ago) link

FC United started today second from bottom and 9 points from safety, off the back of four consecutive defeats (and having lost 8 out of the last 9 games). With 15 minutes to go, we were 3-1 down at home against the team 5th from bottom, looking as dead and buried as you can be. It's just finished 3-3. Probably nowhere near enough, but...
