I [26m] just caught my girlfriend [20f] lying to the IRS saying she’s ‘single’ on her tax form. Should I be concerned?

two weeks pass...

Anyone been following this Spongebob Squarepants thing?

The main Spongebob subreddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/BikiniBottomTwitter/ , started a change.org petition a while back for the NFL to pay tribute to Spongebob creator Stephen Hillenburg, who died last year. They wanted them to play a Spongebob song, Sweet Victory, which came from an episode about a football halftime performance. The petition gathered over a million signatures.

At some point the nfl's twitter account (i think) tweeted a gif of Spongebob, leading many to believe that the song would indeed be included in the halftime show. For several weeks, /r/bikinibottomtwitter posts about Sweet Victory would rise to the top of /r/all, indicating the redditors fevered anticipation. On game day, Maroon 5 posted a teaser trailer that included Spongebob and it seemed like the deal was sealed.

However, when the halftime show rolled around, the tribute was minimal. A little bit of Spongebob footage was used to introduce Travis Scott's portion and I guess that was it.

/r/bikinibottomtwitter went into a full meltdown. People were like "I never would have watched the Superbowl if it hadn't been for the promise of a Spongebob tribute." The subreddit changed its downvote button to the NFL logo. Many even began brigading /r/nfl, whose mods apparently just adopted a policy of deleting any spongebob-related posts on sight.

https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2019/02/reddit-banned-in-china-is-reportedly-set-to-land-210-million-investment-from-a-chinese-censorship-powerhouse/ (australian link so australian dollars)

Tencent is, at great cost and ultimately for great profit, literally reinventing censorship in China. The Great Firewall was not built by the Communist Party in Beijing, it’s built by the tech giants all around China. This opaque but clearly powerful relationship between the $699 billion company and the Chinese government raises interesting and unanswered questions about Tencent’s forays into the West, including questions about Reddit’s future.

what the hell is going on

Tencent is part of China’s foreign policy strategy, it would appear

Bolt the door, Varg is loose!

>Also that he hates non-Aryan people and thinks they should be exterminated.

Has he ever said anything about exterminating any race? As far as I know he just wants to avoid being demographically & culturally replaced (which is a desire that's expected and goes without questioning from pretty much everyone except whites).

xp Or at best, incredibly blind to what it is that people take issue with them for. Think a lot of these characters think they are banned because they mentioned Trump one time, instead of, y'know, being an asshole

Though to be clear I am not not for banning people for mentioning Trump one time

The only one I can think of at the moment is /r/lptol but every once in a while I'll come across something on /r/all where there is no downvote button.

One observation about reddit that has popped up for me when casually browsing over the years. There are a certain amount of reddit users who refer to white men's underpants as "tidy whities" or even "whitey tighties". I did a couple searches and found that, over here in ilx, we have for the most part stuck with "tighty whities". Thank you.
