"Make Me Feel," even if I don't quite get how it became the consensus pick off of Dirty Computer outside of it having been an early single. "Americans" would have made a bolder statement on this particular list (and is a better song besides).

whoever puts this together at least assembled a non-consensus list
this is a joke right? the list practically looks focus-grouped.

"Several critics compared it to the work of Prince, while Monáe herself has stated that Prince helped create sounds for the album, including for "Make Me Feel".[1]"

is it really the top consensus pick from that lp? i hope not but the world truly could be that boring.

I don't follow the year-end things as closely as I used to, but from those that I have seen--Said the Gramophone, Fluxblog, and (I think) Pitchfork--"Make Me Feel" is the one that keeps coming up. The Prince connection explains a lot (I like the song too, btw).

uh, the Prince song obviously...?
― flappy bird, Thursday, 3 January 2019 04:51 (five years ago) link
i voted for "ekombe" even though it's a 2017 song because it's good and everybody else is going to vote for the prince song

The BJ song came out in 2017 but that’s the correct answer
