I guess he's from Cincinnati! which is weird how few rappers have ever been from there, Hi-Tek the producer for Talib is the only person of note I can think of

huh, interesting! all wiki turned up was the MC Breed connection

Hi_Tek had a group in Cincinnati called Mood who released a decent LP in '97. RJD2's crew, MHZ, spawned Camu Tao and Copywrite. Though that's Columbus.

MOOD - DOOM has a few classic tracks. Can't say I've listened to the whole thing recently.

the only really good album that Justin has ever released if you ask me.
many years ago he told me he was going to go back to hip hop as he had done some mixtapes with leftovers from the One Inch Punch era, but as expected, nothing came of it.
yesterday I found a cd copy of the young black teenagers album (s/t) with bombsquad production.
not heard this before, but damn, its hitting the spot.

The whole "Buckwild: Diggin in the Crates" comp is *chef's kiss*. Not an innovative producer (unless he was the one other NYC guys bit??) but so damn consistent. Every track has lil flourishes to keep your attention.

re: Myka 9, I keep coming across MCs I assumed stop making music after ~2000 who have like 8 full albums released in 21st century

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 15 August 2019 19:17 (four years ago) link

yeah dude hasnt stopped. and his stuff is scattered cos his name seems to always be spelled different ie Mikah 9, Mikah Nine, Myka 9, Myka Nine, etc. plus he's done collab albums with random producers and groups (magic heart genies?). His debut 'its all love' is personal classic for me even tho it's like half good.

i just tried spotify for the first time. i never heard the e money bags rip album before (spotify gives the title as: in e moneybags we trust) but, knew of him (e money bags got moet chandon / bundle of sixty two / they ain't got a clue what we about to do) and had heard ''thugs calm down.'' every track on it is solid. also ''i want it'' has two nas verses i've never heard before which is rare since everything gets recycled all over the place. love the kool g rap / nature track. and a track with showboys (the trigger rap showboys i assume) which isn't on youtube: https://open.spotify.com/track/3TP0bIJhdCTS6xKyNhR9cU
