But just for the record, I (rather embarassingly) must hew to the traditional indie-judgment that her first album is really the only one worth listening to. The abrasive shrieking and sloppiness and anger at least packs some visceral punch - "Good Sister/Bad Sister" being the best track on the album. "Live Through This" - eh, "Doll Parts" is okay, but mostly it sounds like sub-par Nirvana. The song-structures, the lyrics, the delivery, everything matches up to the oft-repeated rumors of Kurt-authorship. And released the day after his suicide - ewww, the creepiness factor of the record is very high, it's like she raped his corpse in public or something. I only heard the singles off "Celebrity Skin" and I thought they were appallingly bad... am I forgetting anything? That's about all I've heard. Her music wouldn't be quite so loathsome if it wasn't so hopelessly chained to her shameless, exploitative, completely stupid antics.

like you would give a shit if some male musician was "trustworthy" or not. and if iggy pop ran around london naked you'd think it was awesome. THERE IS A DOUBLE STANDARD AND THAT'S THAT.

What do you know about me and my standards? "Trustworthy" - who said that?

i just wish people (male AND female) would admit that they judge her conduct more harshly cause she's a woman.

do you know anything about me and how i judge people? no. and since courtney love puts her personality so out there, her personality is there for me to judge as i would judge anyone i knew personally. i would judge any male musician in exactly the same way. me and my female friends have committed ourselves to changing the position of women in rock music, i'm even writing a fucking dissertation on it, so do your homework before you run around accusing feminist women of misogyny.

this is a stupid thing to say, you don't know anything about me and i shouldn't expect you to. but really, do you accuse EVERYONE of misogyny if they don't like a (singular) woman?
