elmo argonaut, Monday, 26 November 2007 19:54 (sixteen years ago) link

the flavor and texture is just the most delicate tender version of citrus imaginable. clementines are brutish in comparison.

jhøshea, Monday, 26 November 2007 19:59 (sixteen years ago) link

anyway i just ate 2 more clementines so: 6

jhøshea, Monday, 26 November 2007 20:01 (sixteen years ago) link

For the period since 2006 to present, private small volume orders from fruits grown on Puerto Rico are being filled for American gourmet restaurants who serve the aril pieces as a delicacy dessert. [12] Beginning in 2007 for the first time, fresh mangosteens are also being sold for as high as $45 per pound from specialty produce stores in New York City

mizzell, Monday, 26 November 2007 20:02 (sixteen years ago) link

two. satsumas

jergïns, Monday, 26 November 2007 20:03 (sixteen years ago) link

The clementine is not always distinguished from other varieties of mandarin: in German, it is generally referred to as "Mandarine" and in Japanese, mikan. However, it should not be confused with similar fruit such as the satsuma, another popular variety.

in the NW, we call em SATSUMAS.
They come wrapped in COPYRIGHT NOTICE.

Clementines != satsumas. Satsumas are the king of fruits. I have eaten 0 clementines in 2008. I have comfortably eaten 500+ satsumas. Daily intake increases further in the run-up to Christmas.

caek, Monday, 26 November 2007 22:14 (sixteen years ago) link

How to recognize

satusma: smooth, baggy skin, tastes like a million virgins are showering you with lotus blossoms

clementine: dimpled, tight skin, tastes like cheap cologne and fried chicken

caek, Monday, 26 November 2007 22:16 (sixteen years ago) link

500+ future eaten satsumas whoa
