i dunno, DI are overrated, yes, but i havent heard any seefeel that can compete with the love stepping out/summers last sound 12" (which is better than the rest of DI's output combined)

On my birthday last year, I checked into the Argyle, put Quique on the stereo in my room and sank into my giant aluminum bathtub, drinking beer.

It is a good record.

double disc. b-sides and alt mixes and whatnot on the second. mostly more "ambient" and drawn out and dubby than quique itself. less drive, more drift. etc etc etc.

i should buy a pram album. i'll bet i would like them. i like that too pure stuff. i mostly just listen to old faith healers rekkerds though. i like the seefeel stuff too. i should buy some CDs. they have a great section at the record store here! ned sent me a cd of the disco inferno stuff and i liked it. i still haven't heard the go pop album though.

Yeah, "Helium" and the "Meshes" EP are both pretty excellent and hold up quite well; the drumming on those records is amazing. I find myself going back every couple of years or so and listening to those post-shoegaze/pre-postrock records that I bought when they came out in like 92-94--and not purely for nostalgia reasons. "Eva Luna" by Moonshake from that era is worth owning also.

That said, I would say that the record I do listen to most often from that era is Quique, so I'm happy to see that they are rereleasing with all the bonus material. It's definitely a timeless sorta record and could easily pick up a new audience.
