I bought "Rush Hour"'s parent album Fur out of a vinyl cutout bin once but i can't even remember how it goes now. also having trouble recalling "Mad About You" without getting it tangled up with Mad About You's theme song "Final Frontier"

Rush Hour is all-time. Pure joy. And one of the few big classic 80s pop singles that hasn't yet been overplayed.

i saw the go-gos in the early 00s and was impressed by wiedlin's energy on stage -- she has so much personality and a great pop sound/fashion sensibility.

Is that the kind of obstacle you faced being an all female band?

Yeah. Not so much from within the punk movement; we got fairly good support really early on because it was such an inclusive movement. But the outside world for sure were like “This is ridiculous.” Like I remember going early on to local radio stations, and the DJs would just be like “What a joke. Girls?” It was crazy sexist. I mean, the things people used to say to us, a lawsuit would be started over today. Another funny thing about being women, there was the boring and obvious rumors that we had somehow slept with someone to get somewhere, which is just so cliché and stupid.

I'd never heard the full Fur album until last night. Am I crazy in thinking this sounds a lot like Madonna in places? The production is a lot like True Blue/Like a Prayer, and that probably plays a big part, but even Jane's voice sounds like her every once in a while.

Just now listening to Jane's Tangled album from 1990. It's vv good! Why have I never listened to it before?

I heard the title track on the Pretty Woman soundtrack.
