Well, Thom Yorke has that lazy eye thing going on, and he hasn't O.D.'ed on anything - so, he's a sober tragic figure. Look out Neil Diamond. A star is born 2001. Jeez, ya gotta at least admire Radiohead though!!! I can't be THAT cynical and chalk it up to simple whining. Great lyrics and you get the feeling that they don't shop at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Yuck yuck.

One small problem with your answer, Momus -- if this is "Idioteque" you're referring to, the line is actually 'this *is* really happening.' Which surely changes things. ;-)

But Neddy, if I was in charge of the "Bed, Bath & Beyond" PA system, I'd go for the more soothing "How to Disappear Completely"- in which case the line reads: "This isn't happening" and Momus's dissection holds true. So, it all comes down to a "really".
