thirteen years pass...

Would make for a 'better' story if they were performance enhancing, but still.

My mum's heavily into her bridge playing nowadays. I need to tell her to watch out for doping on the local circuit.

one year passes...

by sheer force of will, I've decided I like playing bridge now. it turns out there is a small contingent of bridge players here on ILX.

I have been learning using the Tricky Bridge app, which has a tutorial series where you play through a cutesy storyline about bridge-playing robots. It teaches the basics, plus some introductions to bidding conventions. I paid ten bucks for a month of unlimited duplicates. Highly recommend.

It differs from other apps in that this app, during the bidding phase, tells you how all bids should be interpreted--just in the past few days, I've started to internalize SAYC, and have been having a wonderful time getting my ass handed to me in duplicates.

Who else plays?
