They might've tried clarify the stance by saying that those gay/lesbian callers tend to have wacked out lives as a result of trauma.

To give the Poorman credit, he was the guy who first started the Loveline thing on KROQ. Dr. Drew P. came on later, and then KROQ basically wrestled the Poorman away from the show, which was a hit, gave it to Adam Corolla but not before other people in between, and I have no idea what the Poorman is up to these days.
