Idk Jordan seems to me he pretty clearly goes off beat the same way noname gypsy or Keef or dmx go “off beat” ie as a purposeful stylistic choice that’s more about creating a distinct pocket than not being *able*

Ok, but it's very different from a rapper that's doing a standard 8th note or triplet thing that's literally offset from the grid, whether through intention or bad engineering or a bad sense of time.

We're not really saying different things, but to my ear the 'offbeat' sections are tiny pockets of time, not like a whole line.
