Jon Hopkins is the closest I can think of but I don't think there's a like-for-like example.

I don't know why I had this feeling the Alice In Chains record could be good and I'd missed out on some glorious 'return to form', but it totally washed over me (in a bland way). Next one on the pile: that J Mascis record that also completely flew under my radar.

I like Doja Cat, but "Go To Town" is easily the better track, think it might have a good position on these lists if (a) it hadn't been overshadowed by the Mooo! video and (b) that whole "saying 'faggot' is fine" / "Doja Cat cancelled" thing.

Still do not get 'It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)', it doesn't grab me at all, may try again.

the pitchfork list doesn't reflect a reality i recognize esp at it pertains to pop, rap and R&b but that's been the case for several years now... it's a good year to pick a crazy no 1 tho

i am a little confused by snail mail so high on the p4k list, "pristine" just sounds like fairly generic indie rock to me while "heatwave" is at least pretty good generic indie rock
