etymologically "sapio" is more "wisdom" than "intelligence" so if anything you should be into like Tibetan lamas or something

haha that's a coincidence, i was just talking about alternative sexualities with one of my co-workers at lunch and she brought up "sapiosexual" and i immediately without thinking said "that's not a sexual orientation, that's something assholes say to make themselves sound clever"

i have been playing loads of roleplaying games over the last decade-ish trying to recapture the way i felt when i was 12 and despite lots of cool stuff being out there i am happy to report that feeling is ephemeral and tied directly to the powerlessness, imagination, time, and friendship that was only available at 12yo, it can never be recaptured alas.

Snark aside, that is incontrovertibly true, although in the process of chasing nostalgia in recent years I did end up discovering a few CRPGs (some old, others new) that fleetingly recaptured my teenage fascination with the Infinity Engine games. My natural inclination towards single-player CRPGs and continued willingness to suspend disbelief as a deliberate corrective to the killjoy that is academia no doubt helped lower the bar (I got my multi-player kicks from RTS's back in the day), as I've never experimented with tabletop campaigns (too demanding and too gregarious, not to mention my group of friends at the time wasn't interested anyway).
