My new puppy is exceptionally frightful, I cannot bring her even to the public park lest she take fear.

One of the many things for which lonavala is famous for . CHIKKI's. There are a variant types of chikkis including all nuts kind. Try to carry plenty of chikki gifts to friends and family . No one would want to resist a good snack.

A1 chikki wala is a very famous chikki center at Lonawala. As we all know Lonawala is a hill station famous for Chikki and hence we always get it from there. Though we get some famous chikki brands now in mumbai as well but Lonawala is specially a place where people can get chikki’s for gifting too.

I started reading Rohinton Mistry's A Fine Balance, which both seems good so far and also contains plenty of quality IE in the dialogue.

I've just learned that in Kerala, your trendy pair of glares are instead called "cooling glasses."

Ha, didn't realize that was Kerala-specific.

I saw some hits for “cooling glasses for mens.” Is that “mens” IA or just a typo?

U or Astro-U? (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 27 July 2019 01:22 (four years ago) link

Just came across this in a completely different context. The IA element is kind of light but I want to read more from this guy: https://www.thehindu.com/books/know-your-english/know-your-english-meaning-of-pancake-people/article2750006.ece

Extra points given for the basic fact-checking/ continuity/proofreading error in the first paragraph.

I think mens is only not a typo when it's in corpore sano.

Are you referring to the poorly checked fact that dosas are not necessarily flipped

mick signals, Saturday, 27 July 2019 01:41 (four years ago) link

Ha, no, didn’t notice that one. Was referring to the incorrect spelling of someone’s name that had been spelled correctly in the previous sentence.

I wish I could use it without coming across as a disrespectful doofus. Its French equivalent, 'faites le nécessaire', is fairly common.

Don’t know if this has been noted already itt but I’ve often been taken aback & charmed by the IE use of the verb “club” where in SE we would say “group”, e.g. “I will club these things together.”
