He was an excellent bassist for Metallica, but his approach, on Justice especially, was more workmanlike than artistic.

I think the record is brilliant, it's a weird sound and vibe, very mechanical and cold but it works, I don't think trying to Monday morning quarterback the mix is going to make it better
