but yeah FF9 looked great when I was playing it in 2011 or 2012. main thing that kept me in it tbh.

there was a 2D megaman game that looked great. basically all 2D games or games like FF9 with extensive 2D backdrops etc., still looks lovely, it's just an extension of SNES-era pixel art. everything polygonal looks godawful.
