haha. tt1pd is totally rave destruction. agreed it's pretty hard to vote for anything else.

glos ceramic has really grown on me

This session has yet to worm its way into my affections like the others have. The first three I'm down with; clustro casual is a piece of sublime machinery, it only does one thing but with a beautifully designed complexity that is immensely satisfying to observe. splesh is a bit more of a pre-industrial hammers and tongs operation but still a pleasure. tt1pd is quality hardcore but i'm not quite so enamoured of the slower second half. then acid mwan idle and flh are seriously uninteresting machines. next three are a bit better but yet to wow me, shimripl air is a lovely bit of ambience, then icari is 20 minutes long and i can never recall a single thing about it.

clustro casual - Not really feeling the shuffly noises on this one but those held chords are definitely giving me a nice Super Metroid vibe (an aesthetic I generally enjoy). Yeah, a nice sustained mood if anything.
splesh - sounds like something I would make by plugging a bunch of Reason modules into each other and setting the LFO at random. Sounds like a jazz quartet inside a 2D shoot-em-up. Some nice UK-bass styling around the 4.30 mark.
tt1pd - clearly the highlight. in some ways i'm left wishing it were somehow even bigger - the bass only threatens to turn into the monster it ought to be
acid mwan idle - quite into this one. feels like i just drove a Volvo into deep water and now I'm sinking
flH - slogging through 16-bit detritus. doesn't really do a lot in its 8.20 minutes
glos ceramic - nice satisfying saw waver eventually gets fed into a crushing machine. maybe my fave so far after tt1pd
g 1 e 1 - love the strange, eerie gurgles on this more ambient piece. makes me think of Graeme Miller & Steve Stills' Moomins soundtrack for some reason
nineFly - more aimless shuffling. not feeling it
shrimpl air - super stretched-out ambience. like a big slowed-down yawn.
icari - this one serves as a kind of victory lap of NTS 3. Quite into the sloggy hip hop vibes (a similar vibe to NTS 1 opening track)

Overall NTS3 is more about sustained moods and a lot of shuffly sounds where beats would normally be. It's going to be a while till I really get my head round it

i knew this was coming so i listened to all of these a couple of days after the NTS2 poll. only i've forgotten them all again now.

i realized icari is kind of a blank spot for me too so i listened to it tonight. it seemed dream-like in its pacing and how it focuses then drifts. maybe it's also easy to forget like dreams can be.

tt1pd for the gut thrills, edging out nineFly which is wonderful but doesn't do quite as much

icari is my pick from this set. glos ceramic and clustro casual close behind

also probably my least favorite of the 4 sessions

Feeling a bit delicate at the moment so tempted to go for clustro casual over tt1pd.
