these two teams are good and everything, but i don't find the matchup very compelling

honestly the most exciting thing has been looking at the green monster. i don't see too many red sox games, so it's still a novelty to me. but now the series is going back to LA, so

i enjoy watching whatever team Machado is on lose.

yeah, if anything the only thing i'll remember from 2018 is manny machado sucks and jesus aguilar is cool

I've lived 2 miles from Fenway Park for nearly two decades and I still don't think the novelty of it all has worn off, even as a non-red sox fan.

Betts is pretty much the most lovable Red Sox since Wakefield.

this is a better charm than some Red Sox of the past, Boggs would have gone there and eaten all the chicken being provided.

speaking of hammerin' hank, i knew about all of the racist bullshit he had to face in the run-up to his 715th HR, but it was only recently (in an anecdote in the Invisible Bridge) that i learned that his first words in his speech to the crowd after hitting it were "Thank God it's over". it's kind of interesting that barry bonds said something very similar after hitting his 714th to tie Ruth - "I'm just glad it's over with"

i wouldn't doubt it, given all the death threats, but man, what would you even do if you were those guards and you saw two fans running onto the field? run out onto the field yourself with your gun? stay in the crowd and aim the gun toward the fans? crazy
