i'm glad she's proposing it (and that others are thinking along the same lines, like sherrod brown). but it's tough not to think about the fact that it would never, ever pass the senate. unless the rapture is real and all the evangelicals fuck off for good and somehow democrats pick up 17 seats in 2020. still, it would be a nice idea for a democrat presidential nominee to campaign on policies that their supporters actually want, rather than starting with a compromise
