I'm not sure about the exact mechanisms by which a Dem-controlled House would be able to force Trump's tax returns into public view, just that everything I read makes it seem like that would be a done deal if they win the majority. I just shudder to think of the lengths to which Trump would be willing to go to prevent that from actually happening.

By the time the tax returns and any incriminating videos come to light, we'll be so used to daily trolling and gaslighting that I don't imagine them making much of a difference.

we just had a massive drop of info about trump's business dealings from the nyt which had literally no impact at all so i'm nt holding my breath one way or another

it's hard to say what kind of impact it will have--i mean, if the intended impact was the GOP congress investigating Trump's business dealings, then obviously it would fail on that account, but it doesn't mean that the revelations in that NYT article will wind up meaningless in the long run

I know this is bad for Elizabeth Warren and bad for Democrats because everything any Democrat does ever is bad for them individually and bad for Democrats as a whole - that's just how US politics works. Republicans defeat themselves sometimes, but Democrats never actually win. And when they do, they turn out to be evil anyway, so fuck it all, right? I know this.
