The Spurs traded Tony Parker and lost two more point guards to 8-weeks-or-more injuries and still have a better PG rotation than Phoenix. Think about that.

It accuses a four time all-star of not improving his game lately! Because he "began seeing himself as a star"!

and simmons is useless when hes not handling the ball

simmons is good

ciderpress, Saturday, 13 October 2018 16:35 (one year ago) link

hes good in a lazy midseason game, in the playoffs against a team prepared to exploit his weaknesses hes got a lot of weaknesses

lag∞n, Saturday, 13 October 2018 16:37 (one year ago) link

In the regular season he’s playoff Rondo. In the playoffs last year he was regular season Rondo.

yes he was also a rookie

I was listening to the bill simmons over/unders podcast, he's really high on the lakers and thinks they're a lock to be over 47.5 or 48 wins or whatever it is and has them as the #3 seed and...I don't see it. I mean they could do it for sure but if there is anything we have learned about regular season lebron over the past 7 years, particularly in his first season with a team, it is that they do not exceed expectations in the regular season. no way lebron goes hard enough for 82 games for that team to win 50 in a stacked western conference imo

k3vin k., Saturday, 13 October 2018 23:03 (one year ago) link

it is actually gonna be hard for many teams in the west to break 50 kinda like last year, too many good teams that are gonna beat up on each other

k3vin k., Saturday, 13 October 2018 23:04 (one year ago) link

Yeah was listening to the same podcast and I was surprised. I mean they can't really break 48 wins with their current interior defence rotation. Are there any speculated trades to help in that area?

They also won't want LeBron defending the 5 and wearing himself down. Really I would have thought that they should be looking to preserve him for a real run next season (w/ a free agent star signing) and for now develop their younger assets, and if they make the playoffs this year it's a bonus.

Rough win calc:

Bucks: 1/2
Bulls: 2/2
Cavs: 1/2
Celtics: 0/2
Clippers: 3/4
Grizzlies: 2/3
Hawks: 2/2
Heat: 1/2
Hornets: 2/2
Jazz: 1/4
Kings: 3/4
Knicks: 2/2
Magic: 2/2
Mavericks: 2/3
Nets: 2/2
Nuggets: 1/3
Pacers: 1/2
Pelicans: 2/4
Pistons: 1/2
Raptors: 1/2
Rockets: 1/4
Sixers: 1/2
Spurs: 3/4
Suns: 3/4
Timberwolves: 1/4
Thunder: 2/3
Trailblazers: 2/4
Warriors: 1/4
Wizards: 1/2

So maybe they are kind of hovering around as a 47 win team but 3 seed? Nahhh

Not that I want it to happen but just wondering what trade would it take to get Mark Gasol on the Lakers? Esp since he can opt out next year. Grizz could tank pretty effectively without him and I would assume noone is interested in Conley really.

You (bleeping) need me. You can't Finn without me (fionnland), Sunday, 14 October 2018 00:43 (one year ago) link

lakers would only trade grizzlies their expiring vets probably which memphis might do to get under the cap or something idk.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 14 October 2018 00:44 (one year ago) link

Yeah I just looked on trade machine and Lakers just don't have the salary to do it.

that would be fine for everyone i think. lakers really need an innings eater at the 5, if they leave the rotation as it is they're adding a ton of unnecessary wear and injury risk to lebron and kuzma and whoever else they use to fill up 26 minutes a nite.
