ERTZ for UTZ

Seems like a local add marketing idea that should happen.

eagles are not good

k3vin k., Monday, 8 October 2018 02:31 (five years ago) link

I've only watched a couple of quarters all year, including the 4th quarter of the Bengals/Fish game. Reading the recaps and stats, I can't tell who is really good this year.

Rams and Chiefs would be a weird Superbowl matchup, seems very unlikely.

earlnash, Monday, 8 October 2018 13:28 (five years ago) link

yeah Rams & Chiefs are the only two teams that haven't really embarrassed themselves yet

frogbs, Monday, 8 October 2018 13:33 (five years ago) link

let's all just enjoy the chiefs before they fade precipitously and exit the playoffs 0-1. altho the afc looks like it'll be a worse shambles than expected even. maybe the jags will pull their shit together and yesterday will be an aberration for bortles. seemed like the ravens might be scraping something together until yesterday too. hard to believe in cincy.

rams do seem v legit, altho it was funny that when the rams were shit they kept beating the hawks when seattle was good, and the script nearly flipped on them yesterday. bears look p nice too. not sure what happened to the saints defense, but maybe they'll click again thru the season, or maybe last year was the aberration for them.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 8 October 2018 15:08 (five years ago) link

had the vikes-iggles game on yesterday and suddenly the TV went blank and i think it might be permanently broken

mookieproof, Monday, 8 October 2018 15:15 (five years ago) link

Random stats: With the Cardinals victory over the 49ers, every team in the NFL now has at least one win, and only six teams have just one win.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 8 October 2018 17:47 (five years ago) link

there are v few teams that seem completely hopeless. even bad teams like the cardinals have potential upside. who is the most hopeless team? miami maybe?

Mordy, Monday, 8 October 2018 17:56 (five years ago) link

and they're like 3-1

Mordy, Monday, 8 October 2018 17:57 (five years ago) link

sorry 3-2

Mordy, Monday, 8 October 2018 17:57 (five years ago) link

bills?

Machine Gunk Jelly (Spottie), Monday, 8 October 2018 18:05 (five years ago) link

the bills are worse than miami, they're a contender. that vikings result is not going to become any more explicable as the season wears on. raiders look like the other genuinely bad team in the afc. arizona vs niners might be a playoff for the #1 pick. the giants are probably a notch up from them but maybe not, it would be great if they're truly as bad as they have seemed at times.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 8 October 2018 18:11 (five years ago) link

the niners have been brutally unlucky with injuries of course, those other teams all somehow planned to be like this

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 8 October 2018 18:13 (five years ago) link

bills maybe have a future at qb tho no?

Mordy, Monday, 8 October 2018 18:23 (five years ago) link

not on the evidence so far

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 8 October 2018 18:27 (five years ago) link

raiders seem pretty hopeless to me

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 8 October 2018 19:18 (five years ago) link

didn't realize that they also have no place to play next year

mookieproof, Monday, 8 October 2018 19:21 (five years ago) link

def the raiders

It's like Gruden can't help himself. When asked about how to get more TOs: "It starts with pressuring the quarterback, we’ve got to get more pressure on the quarterback. We’ve got to force him to make some bad decisions."

Machine Gunk Jelly (Spottie), Monday, 8 October 2018 21:05 (five years ago) link

gofundme: gruden shock collar for every time he talks about anything remotely related to pass rush

Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 9 October 2018 01:30 (five years ago) link

Lol@nfl for giving the Saints a 15yd penalty for celebrating when Brees broke the All-Time Passing record on a 62yd td pass on MNF in the dome.

Fetchboy, Tuesday, 9 October 2018 02:26 (five years ago) link

that was def the worst alex smith game i've ever witnessed

Feels important that the cathats get stomped on indigenous peoples day.

Fetchboy, Tuesday, 9 October 2018 06:02 (five years ago) link

lmao at that 15 yard penalty, that is the most on-brand thing I've ever seen

this is a p interesting view after 5 games. expected points added - top half is best defenses, right half is best offenses.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 10 October 2018 19:36 (five years ago) link

Brock Osweiler starts. Miami up 7-0 thanks to a comical textbook piledrive penalty

every time redzone went to a miami possession it was the bears blowing a play up or wilson doing something sweet

Raiders situation is sad

holy shit this game

def love football again

for a second i wondered why the patriots were so chill on that final drive. i rarely feel like they know as much as they want you to think they do, but they 100% knew they had what they wanted on that drive.

call all destroyer, Monday, 15 October 2018 03:30 (five years ago) link

whatever the matchup or defense was, they knew they had that 1:1 with gronk whenever they needed it

call all destroyer, Monday, 15 October 2018 03:30 (five years ago) link

seemed like nbc crew spent like 2/3 of the broadcast talking up patrick mahomes & now i turn on espn and they're talking about... patrick mahomes

he was impressive but... they lost the game?

¯\_(🏈 )_/¯ (daria-g), Monday, 15 October 2018 03:39 (five years ago) link

Better than hearing about Brady the whole time like usual

Machine Gunk Jelly (Spottie), Monday, 15 October 2018 03:40 (five years ago) link

This nfl season has been rad

they should be talking about why the patriots were walking to the line on the wrong side of the 50 with less than two minutes to go and still easily got in field goal range

call all destroyer, Monday, 15 October 2018 03:42 (five years ago) link

Chiefs D is so bad

Machine Gunk Jelly (Spottie), Monday, 15 October 2018 03:43 (five years ago) link

it's been pointed out before, but the chiefs combo of ridiculous offense and nearly-as-ridiculously bad defense makes them the most telegenic team in nfl history.

voodoo chili, Monday, 15 October 2018 14:14 (five years ago) link

Or the 2000 Rams

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Monday, 15 October 2018 15:42 (five years ago) link

they should be talking about why the patriots were walking to the line on the wrong side of the 50 with less than two minutes to go and still easily got in field goal range

Belichick is one of the few coaches in the league who actually plays these situations correctly

Figured the Chiefs should've just let Gronk score after he got to the 9 or whatever but I don't think anyone makes that decision in real time

frogbs, Monday, 15 October 2018 18:50 (five years ago) link

gronk has also been in the same situation before and went down to avoid scoring, iirc
