imo Red Scare is more of a comedy podcast than a political podcast. it's closer to Cum Town than Chapo, they talk about politics just as much and their (really just Anna's) political affiliation is contrarianism. Anna deliberately misinterprets events and contorts her takes accordingly, and then there'll be a pause and Dasha will offer a lukewarm "sure." it's schtick and obviously not for everyone. this is only to say that taking them at face value or seriously is just as much a waste of time as getting mad about a Cum Town bit. they (Anna) thrive off the negative attention on Twitter, if you don't like them just ignore them. most of the humor for me (and Dasha/Meg) is how stupid or insane Anna sounds sometimes.

And they share an audience—what Angela Nagle, writing in the Atlantic, called “lost boys” and what the Chapo guys call “failsons”—fans in their mid-20s, very frequently white, overwhelmingly male, with little direction in life but an aching need for purpose and meaning.

My best guess about what distinguishes a Peterson lost boy fan from a Chapo failson fan is that the two will tend to have different capacities.
