Right, gtf McLeish, you useless cunt. I've had to sit in a bar in Lisbon and watch this shite ... well, I didn't have to but... also bar full of Yanks watching NFL, bad choice.

i was thinking we needed a general international football thread so i could celebrate Costa's debut full international appearance but this'll do eh?

(xp) I did start a Nations League or Cup or whatever the fuck it is, last night... though mostly to celebrate Holland stuffing Germany and Gibraltar winning way from home - off the Rock.

the fucking state of that. Ex head of the police federation said same too, which: bitter lol, of course he did.
I made the mistake of looking at kickback this week, which I'm sure you can imagine was delightful.

Every time I hear Billy Boys I really question my relationship with this club and some of its scumbag fans

Just dropping by to confirm I still hate:- Hamilton's pitch- referees
The standard of both is fucking abysmal.

We had Willie Collum at the weekend. Forgot how infuriating he is.
― michaellambert, Monday, 26 November 2018 08:55 (five years ago) link
Totally. Son of Dallas is even worse.
Hamilton's new tactic of not pumping the fucking balls up is a new low in shitty attempts at levelling the playing field against a bigger team.

wee bit late here but honestly Rodgers playing McGregor at left-back in the Glasgow Derby was a bit of tactical nous worthy of Tony Mowbray.

― sktsh, Friday, 25 January 2019 22:34 (five years ago) link
"suspended" is a wee bit of a weird way to term it. obviously he's out on his arse, why don't they just come out and say it?
don't know enough about that hibs squad to say whether or not it's justified, although obviously recent results have been shite.
i personally didn't particularly rate Lennon as a manager at Celtic- beating Barcelona was no bad admittedly

Eddie May refers to himself in the third person. Surely this alone qualifies him as a manager.

As I understand it, today Celtic have confirmed the signings of 3 players who won't be joining the club this season and one who is already here.I don't really by get how that helps us win the league.

Eddie May postpones his vasectomy to be in the dugout tonight. He's too good for the Hibs job.

Yes, it's just like old times, what with Rangers getting awarded 4 penalties in one match by a referee named Dallas.

El Bufalo Morelos has been banned for 3 games, and McGregor might get a ban too for a bad challenge that went unpunished in the Dons game. The powers that be knew the heat was on them for being so lax and have had to take some action. Probably their two best players.
― ( ͡☉ ͜ʖ ͡☉) (jim in vancouver), Saturday, 9 February 2019 00:12 (five years ago) link
They still get their three points.
If Morelos had been red carded for every red card offence he's committed this season he'd be banned till April.
― Non, je ned raggette rien (onimo), Saturday, 9 February 2019 11:47 (five years ago) link
McGregor banned and Rangers causing a stink about it. Beyond belief really. He sticks a leg out at a player late. He should have been sent off and a penalty been given. Would've altered the course of Rangers season. But as the truth behind "no one likes us, we don't care" is actually "we demand special treatment, we are extremely aggrieved if it's withheld" the club issues a statement and as for the fans, they're losing their mind about the republican scottish nationalist taig establishment and the biased SFA. couldnae make it up.
― ( ͡☉ ͜ʖ ͡☉) (jim in vancouver), Wednesday, 13 February 2019 20:12 (five years ago) link

very weird feeling this, first time i can ever remember being disappointed at a manager leaving, usually sick to the back teeth of them by the time they go.
― ( ͡☉ ͜ʖ ͡☉) (jim in vancouver), Tuesday, 26 February 2019 20:01 (five years ago) link
The only disappointment is that it might blow the team off course for the rest of the season - and let you-know-who in to win the league. Other than that, I don't care about Rodgers, never rated him, the performances in Europe have been abysmal.
― Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Tuesday, 26 February 2019 20:08 (five years ago) link
i think the league will be fine.
rodgers is obviously a bit of a knob. the envelope stuff in the liverpool doc, his general penchant for cringey soundbites, and all that. celtic were also rank rotten in europe under him for the most part.
but 7 trophies on the trot domestically is something else, and his first season was incredible
― ( ͡☉ ͜ʖ ͡☉) (jim in vancouver), Tuesday, 26 February 2019 20:14 (five years ago) link
True but the team's being going backwards ever since the first season.
