"Sway" rules with a mighty hand. Alejandro Escovedo's cover is also pretty darn good.

"Sway" is probably my favorite Stones tune, it really is.

Just Mick's phrasing on the whole thing "THERE .. MUst ,, Be WAYS" or coming out of the solo, "hey HEY!!! one DAY I WOKE UP too Fiiiiind". plus Charlie is just freakin' phenomenal across the whole thing. I mean, it's probably the best studio performance by one of the great rock drummers.

I may have mentioned this elsewhere, but every time I hear the first bars of "Sway" I think "my god, has any album by anyone ever had a stronger opening than this?" and then I realize that Sticky Fingers opens with "Brown Sugar." Foolz.

Other things about "Sway" that rule:

- "cone-uh-uffer-SMAAAHL"
- Nicky Fucking Hopkins

the fact that RIP THIS JOINT only appears on ONE list is an absolute tragedy.
