I can't decide whether the fact that thread doesn't have NSFW content means that you all aren't really getting at the essence of maleness and masculinity, or if it means that you all are pretty decent people

the tory it was that was banned in this case (i live in hackney): apparently he's on the steering committee so i imagine funtiems bein had behind the scenes

also my hyper-anarchist chums (who were very involved in getting these going) are saying there's a now concerted govt effort to co-opts the MAs going on, to strip out the politics and make it much more top-down and normative (pinch of salt abt the degree to which this is joined-up policy, anarchists be bein anarchists much as i love these guys, BUT i think this will likely be a feature going forward yes)

haha likewise yes (they do get good local stuff done and i am glad i know them and proud they tolerate me but *sometimes* *sigh*)

on one of our groups someone did a poll about how members of the local group were going to deal with April's rent -- a dozen people voted they were going to "pay as normal" -- one of the group admins (who I am friends with) wants to ban all these people from the group.

I suggested to them (the admin -- a non-binary person) that they don't know whether there are any other circumstances involved that might make paying rent and not acting in solidarity with the rent strike, a politically acceptable choice.
