been trying this year not to add to the infinite backlog, but i kinda like that Unity bundle and having a bunch of assets I will never, ever use as I have no idea how to program Unity

but Shadows of the Shogun and Torment look good, so fly away $15...

Nhex, Tuesday, 18 September 2018 09:24 (five years ago) link

I think Unity's pretty easy to learn! (at least, like, comparable to Unreal, I think?)

LootCrate started their own Humble Monthly Bundle competitor, LootPlay. Same idea - one title revealed, the remaining games are a mystery.

very easy to get some basic stuff going but you need to know c# for collision/events etc

I knew Hyper Light Drifter was an inevitable inclusion - currently in tier 3 of this year's Day of the Devs bundle at a reasonable $12 (with Minit!)

Catherine just released on Steam, although it's "Catherine Classic" meaning it's prob the same game as on PS3 and 360, but Atlus is soon releasing an expanded one for PS4 (and PS Vita apparently?! Lol) so might just be worth waiting for that. Still, if it's a game yr interested in and yr on PC only, there you go!

Also apparently Ubi has jumped ship from Steam to Epic Games launcher/store thing?

suggest boban (Will M.), Thursday, 10 January 2019 17:04 (five years ago) link

i thought ubi already had their own launcher

ciderpress, Thursday, 10 January 2019 17:22 (five years ago) link

They do, but the install base probably sucks

Worth going up $5 to get CLANNAD from the current Humble Hot Date bundle?

Nhex, Tuesday, 9 April 2019 01:44 (five years ago) link

Welp I forgot to buy that

Anyway, I was a big fan of One Finger Death Punch. The sequel came out a few days ago and was immediately bundled for less than the retail price.

it's p. old and no idea if it's any good (there is one favourable ILX comment from a billion years ago) but I was pissed off to check my email just too late to claim the last free game, so, thought I'd mention this

I saw that a couple things on my Steam wishlist (Into the Breach, Wargroove) are on sale. Should I wait for BF instead?

Antonym Scalia (Leee), Monday, 11 November 2019 19:01 (four years ago) link

Nah, Steam event sales ain't what they used to be.
What I WOULD do is check the games on isthereanydeal and compare to their historical lows.

Nhex, Monday, 11 November 2019 21:44 (four years ago) link

Steam autumn sale is up, probably the most interesting thing is that weird Steam controller which they are discontinuing and so now selling for £4/$5 plus shipping.

( X '____' )/ (zappi), Tuesday, 26 November 2019 23:02 (four years ago) link

there's a better than usual sale on google play (the android store) too. Lots of board games adaptations.

wasdnuos (abanana), Tuesday, 26 November 2019 23:26 (four years ago) link

already bought the weird Steam controller, i've always been curious how it feels. strange that they're killing it after just having released Index, though

Nhex, Wednesday, 27 November 2019 01:47 (four years ago) link

Portal 2 is 71p in the stream sale!

Might take a punt on Dead Space - lots of reports of problems on win10 but it's cheap enough to risk.

koogs, Wednesday, 27 November 2019 07:50 (four years ago) link

Dead Space is good

and I note a soda machine in the banner & many of the other pics for fans of the Video Game Soda Machine Project

(I have become slightly obsessed with video game soda machines since reading the piece about them/vgsmproject in Wireframe mag a month or two ago)

Mega Mall Story 2 sounds like a game I have to play

calstars, Wednesday, 27 November 2019 23:29 (four years ago) link

I could never get the hang of the Steam controller, I even offered it for free to a friend who refused it. I guess I'll keep if for historic reasons now then.

picked up Tron 2.0 for a couple of quid, other than that nothing on my wishlist at any decent discount. Might have a browse tonight though.

Mordy, Monday, 2 December 2019 22:55 (four years ago) link

is ark survival worth getting on ps4 for $17? i haven't played it on any platforms. castle crashers for $8.99 (might be a good game to play couch co-op with my kids?). is code vein worth $35 or wait until it's persona 5 priced? would i like monster hunter world ($15) haven't played any of them in the series. catherine: full body for $30? haven't played it in any version. detroit: become human for $10 (lol not for any price is my suspicion). v much appreciate any recommendations esp if u know anything about my taste but even if u don't

Mordy, Monday, 2 December 2019 23:00 (four years ago) link
