Whenever I hear the song 'Love Shack' in public, say at a Walgreens or the Starbucks, I like to say 'tiiiiiin Root...Rusted' real loud over the music because I love the band Rusted Root. People really dig it, I think.

It promotes awareness of Rusted Root.

I recall "Rusted Foot" being slug around by musicians envious of their fame.

In the interest of full disclosure, I was prompted to start this thread this morning when I heard a Spin Doctors song and my immediate thought was that the Spin Doctors were probably the favorite band of at least one member of Rusted Root.

Spin Doctors and Rusted Root were contemporaries -- mid/late-'93 "alternative" radio was all "Two Princes," "On My Way," and the 4 Non Blondes song.

They were pretty good-looking, for a bunch of crusties.

I often find myself locked in a moment of zen-like contemplation when I realize that most bands are somebody's favorite band. Like Crazytown. Someone out there somewhere still proudly declares that Crazytown is their favorite band of all time. It's a very complex world, the one we live in.

I don't think the contemporariness of the Root and the Doctors precludes the fact that the Rusted Root fife player was a charter member of the Spin Doctors fan club.

Phish neologisms include: trune, taboot, blastoplast, jibboo... that's just off the top of my head. there are probably more that I'm forgetting.

There are few things a jam band can't effortlessly ruin imo.

Anybody here have some salient facts about əkoostik hookah? All I know is that we used to get a kick out of very enthusiastically bellowing their profoundly stupid name in the midst of an ultimate sesh in the quad every time they rolled through my college town.

Man, I miss ultimate in the quad. And devil sticks in front of the Rathskeller just before going to see the local Sublime cover band.

I have to literally walk away from my desk rn because the phrase 'ultimate in the quad' is making me lose the last of my composure.

I guess I was vaguely aware that this band existed. I must have seen posters or CDs or t-shirts or something. But I am very happy that I had not knowingly heard even a single djembe-slap-worth of their alleged "music" until now.

There were probably people on the periphery of my social circle who were into this sort of thing (baja shirt, hacky sack, Birkenstocks/huaraches, pennywhistle). But my truest droogs and I were mainly getting high and listening to Residents, Beethoven, Modern Jazz Quartet, and old-tymey 78s during those years. We were aware there was such a thing as radio, but as far as we were concerned it may as well have been broadcasting solely to the moon.

The trick is to just keep listening to the Root until you go from SIMMYOMMAWAY to FULLYOMMAWAY.
