On my third listen in as many days; this one is tough. Unlike other volumes, most of these songs weren't drilled into my head in the '70s except maybe "Signs" and "Gimme Dat Ding."

I like "Signs," but I really want to hear whatever Steppenwolf song the unrelated first 20 seconds could have turned into.

"Saturday Morning Confusion" would make a good mashup, musically and topically, with "9 to 5."

Would the line about macaroons qualify "Sweet City Woman" for the Words That Only Appeared in One Hit Song thread?

The power poppy songs are starting to cancel each other out and I'm leaning toward "It's a Cryin' Shame."

I'm not wild about much on this volume, but voting "Sweet City Woman," a 70s skiffle jam I vastly prefer to "In the Summertime."

I was obsessed with "Timothy" as a kid (also "DOA" by Bloodrock same year, morbid kid) but I'm giving this one to "Go Back," a minor hit I never heard too much of to tire of.

Sweet City Woman was the first record I ever bought, a decision I have never regretted. So that.

these are some weak songs tho.

how hard is it to just hit a groove and ride that out? it sounds like people in the early 70s got super high when they wrote these songs and ended up adding all these needless dumb parts to the songs. it's like the song gets distracted by something out the window or something.

'71 was a great year to be an ugly guy with long hair.
