The worst one I heard this season was Motherwell away and two absolute jakies were shoehorning Hearts players names into The Jam's That's Entertainment . "Harry cochrane and Steven Naismith, that's entertainment yada yada", viciously off key and in by far the least watchable game of the season with no hint of irony.

That was a clusterfuck right in front of the goal.

Lucky that at least half of this side won't be playing the next match.

As I won't be here for a week to enjoy the last 16 and two of the QFs lets do some predictions:

Fra - Arg: The tie of the round. France haven't had to play and I think that might go against them. Argies toughened up and even though France could win in their midfield (they should!) they are undercooked here.
Uru - Por: Another good tie. Expect a lot of yellow cards, maybe a red. 22 shitheads in a field. Great. Uruguay to edge it. Might go pens.
Bra - Mex: Brazil will do enough - but only just. Mexico will be intense, think Brazil to win in extra-time.
Bel - Jpn: England are stupid. Belgium.
Spa - Rus: Russia to get a goal as they bow out of the competition they are only in because they host it.
Cro - Den: Apart from Japan Denmark have been the most useless team! Just nothing. Once Croatia beat them can we celebrate by banning Fred B?
Swe - Swi: Really like Switzerland and the way they trolled the war criminals. Want them to beat the tall blonde people who can't fucking play.
Col - Eng: Watch Colombia beat Eng and then all the hipsters adopt them. London will be insufferable.

Think Russia could surprise Spain. Apart from their opening game (and they didn't even win that one) Spain have looked fairly average.

He also says Spain have been the best team of the tournament so far, so let's assume this was written under the influence of some mind-altering substance and move on.

it never bodes well for England when they start looking at the matches past the next one. Colombia win. France will beat the Argies too. I agree with whomever said Russia will beat Spain too. Spain have been tepid in the tournament so far.

Still think they've got too much for Russia. France-Arg and Colombia-England too close to call imo. Put a gun to my head I'd go France but my heart can't let Messi go.

Fra - Arg: Suspect this is going to be a dire game enlivened by the high stakes. Haven't seen much of France but from what I can gather they've been effective in an uninspired way which might be enough against an Argentina team that are the exact opposite. Guess it depends on how Kante and perhaps N'Zonzi shackle Banega and cut off the supply to Messi. It should really be France although the usual 'but Messi' caveats apply obviously. Can see this going to penalties.

Uru - Por: Proper cvnt-off this and could go either way. Going with

Bra - Mex: Brazil easily.

Bel - Jpn: Belgium in the first couple of games looked the most balanced and dangerous team in the tournament (usually Bobby M caveats apply). They haven't played anyone good yet but they'll easily have too much for Japan.

Spa - Rus: Spain and I'm not buying into any other narrative.

Cro - Den: Battle of the sexy playmakers. Could be lots of fun, going Croatia.

Swe - Swi: Have to admit I'm struggling to care about this one. Sweden 1-0 VAR penalty.

Col - Eng: This could be a ridiculously high-scoring game. With a full strength front attack I'd say Colombia could rip England's back three apart, but with the exception of the Poland game Colombia haven't looked that great so far. I think England will edge it but it'll be crazy. Kane/Sanchez and intriguing face-off.

No idea who's going to win Uruguay Portugal.

Yeah Belgium will crush Japan and then probably come unstuck against the winners of Mexico Brazil in the next round

Portugal have got Cron but not much else so I think Uruguay will turn them over

Spain have been tepid in the tournament so far.

Argentina losing to Brazil in the semi-final seems like something that should've happened more at World Cups.

Also judging by the Serbia game this Brazil XI looks like a reasonably solid defensive unit, which can't always be said about them to say the least.
